LIFE IN HEAVEN – PART SIX
Saturday – June 2, 2018, Sivan 19, 5778

Welcome back to this wonderful study of Life in Heaven. This is a faith building study because life in Heaven is every bit as real as the life we are now living in the earth but in general infinitely better. As a reminder let me say that not all of what I am writing is supported directly by Scripture and is the outcome of a Holy Spirit directed imagination. As we prepare to move on let me make a statement that will either thrill you and fill you with an abundance of hope for what is available in the earth or it will make you mad. In either event keep reading. The will, the plan of God is that His children live on a level similar to Heaven even in the midst of this horrific curse. We must ask ourselves, where are we on that continuum of living fully in the curse and living wholly like Heaven? We create our world with our thoughts, words, and actions. Where is our love and faith? Now on to our study. I will pick up with where I left off last Saturday in the time period of Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2 and how the earth came to the condition we see in Genesis 1:2 which is an awful condition. In short, this devastation came about in the process and wake of the fall of Lucifer (sin was found in him) who is now known as Satan, the devil, and the Serpent among other names. Revelation chapter twelve tells us about the revolt of Lucifer and his casting to the earth with a third of the angels that sided with him in this revolt. Ok, let’s leap into this material with Genesis 1:2 as our jumping off point. In the following Scriptural passage God is giving the Prophet Jeremiah a glimpse into this past creation.
Jeremiah 4:23-27 (KJV)
23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.
24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.
25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.
26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.
27 For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.
The Prophet Jeremiah is seeing the scene of Genesis 1:2 notice the exact same wording in verse twenty-three. He is looking with spiritual eyes because there is no physical light because the “heavens were fled” according to verse twenty-five. This same verse makes reference to the fact there was no man and no birds in the context that there used to be but no more. Jeremiah could tell this was previously a very productive, fruitful place but was now a wilderness and the cities were in ruin. Why? The fierce anger of the Lord had been stirred up and wrath had broken out against the people (creatures) who lived here. Yet in the midst of His anger the LORD says “The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.” And this is where we see Genesis 1:2 where this whole scene is covered with water. Let us look at one scenario that could have led to this which I believe is the fall or sin of Lucifer.
Isaiah 14:12-15 (KJV)
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
Now, in this time frame there was a defined place which was the abode of God and it was separate from the physical creation of Genesis 1:1 that is to say the earth, the first, and second heavens. The same configuration or arrangement as now. Lucifer, an Archangel fell from Heaven the abode or living place of God. And Lucifer, now called the Devil, Satan, Dragon, and Serpent, had access to Heaven and was one of the Archangels covering the throne of God and walked in the coals of fire before the throne. Why was he cut down? He weakened the nations, he led them into iniquity. He decided he would take the place of God and the peoples/creatures should worship him. God tells him, “never going to happen”, you are headed first to the earth and then (later) to hell forever. In order for true love to operate there must be a choice to prove the love. We do not know if the creatures of this ancient civilization had freewill or not, however, since this is a characteristic of God most likely they did. However, this could have been an angelic civilization. The creatures identified by science as predating mankind may simply have been as other animals. Adam would later choose Satan as well in the Garden of Eden but thank God in His mercy we have a different outcome. Lucifer (Satan) and the fallen angels have no possibility of redemption for they were not corrupted by another but corrupted themselves. That is not to say that falling for a temptation clears one of blame it does not, we have to allow the onset of the temptation in the first place. Before I move away from the Isaiah passage notice how Lucifer made everything about himself. When we hear “I” coming up too often we are talking and acting like Lucifer and we need to do an immediate about face (repentance). In the following passage the LORD is talking about Lucifer.
Ezekiel 28:11-19 (KJV)
11 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.
Starting with verse twelve we find that Lucifer was at the apex of wisdom and beauty. Lucifer was a bright shining star of God’s creation. Lucifer is a created spiritual being but not in the likeness and image of God nor of like kind as God. His clothing was every precious stone; this physical body gave him authority in the earth and his spiritual origins some level of authority in Heaven, much like us. He is now a disembodied spirit in the earth with zero authority and power except among his own (fallen angels). Lucifer was anointed, the power of God, the Holy Spirit, was all over him just like the Holy Spirit was all over Jesus and is all over us. Do you suppose that is why Satan hates us so; we have all that was once his and more. Because of his beauty and wisdom, he entered into pride and fell. God says in verse seventeen I am throwing you to the ground (earth). God goes on to tell him that kings will behold him lying on the ground, we are those kings. Even in this pre-Genesis 1:2 timeframe God was looking forward to this creation and having sons. Verse nineteen ends with God telling Satan that he will be a terror for a season but then he will be no more. Jesus told us He was there the day Satan was cast to the ground.
Luke 10:18 (KJV)
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Until our next publication, I speak this Scriptural prayer for your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
2 Peter 1:2-4 (KJV)
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
