WE ARE NOT TO REMAIN LITTLE CHILDREN

Welcome dear children to Awake, Arise, and Triumph Ministries and the ongoing study of The Kingdom of God and repentance. This was the major theme of Jesus’ Ministry and thus must be of ours as well. Jesus taught the Laws of the Kingdom and demonstrated the Laws of the Kingdom. What about you and me? Without further ado lets go to our anchor Scripture and delve once again into what is necessary for our success in the Kingdom.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
I ask once again, do we see this as a doable command? Is the Kingdom of God and His righteousness in the forefront of our thinking or do the things of the Kingdom follow after the things of our own natural lives? One is righteousness, one is sin, which are you, am I, doing? I will now move into the next teaching from the mouth of the Master about the Kingdom.
Matthew 19:13-15 (KJV)
13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
15 And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.
We have seen this before about “little children” and being like them. First what is considered a “little child”? It seems the Scripture is speaking of a newborn or infant, perhaps up to two years of age. Children of this age are completely dependent upon their parents and so are we to know that we are completely dependent upon God. We are to lose the attitude “I can do it myself”. The term little child can also apply to an immature Christian, and we have seen this in our study of the Book of 1st John. The Apostle Paul also speaks of it in his letter to the Galatians.
Galatians 4:19 (KJV)
19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,
How many of us in pride think we are all grown up in Christ but in fact remain as little children. We are to mature unto the full stature of Christ.
Ephesians 4:13 (KJV)
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
Have you arrived?
TAKE HOME:
- First and foremost, we are to know that we are totally dependent upon God. When we submit ourselves completely acknowledging and rejoicing in our place under Him all things are possible through us.
- We are commanded and have a responsibility to mature into the fulness of Christ. The more we mature the more useful we are to the Father, just like in the natural world the more we mature the more useful we become to others.
- Is Christ being formed in you, in me, are we exercising the fruits of the spirit daily, are we pursuing after our assignments in the Kingdom daily?
Lord willing, I will resume right here next Saturday. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
