AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

THE PEOPLE SHALL BE OPPRESSED
Greetings dear and precious brothers and sisters, sons, of the only Living God. Welcome back to this enriching and empowering study of the wonderfully prophetic Bible Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment to share these teachings as widely as possible to expand the reach of the good news. Come on, you can do it. The featured picture today of deer was provided by a good friend, an honorable man, and excellent former police officer. These deer are just outside the fence around his backyard. Now, let’s delve into our primary Bible text for today reading it aloud, yes, out loud.
Isaiah 3:4-8 (KJV)
4 And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.
5 And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.
6 When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:
7 In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.
8 For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.
As you will recall, God has been calling out the wickedness of His people, not the devil’s people, His people. The Church for some reason just does not seem to comprehend this. Are our hearts so hard? We are always talking about someone else’s wickedness. What about our own wickedness? God is so good. He tells us what is good and what is bad. He tells us the rewards (which are abundant) for obedience and He tells us the cost of disobedience. Our Heavenly Father, our Savior the Lord Jesus, and our Helper the Holy Spirit do not bring stealing, killing, and destroying into our lives. We do this ourselves by our choices. Why do His people repeatedly choose evil, wickedness? Yielding to the flesh and ignoring the Spirit, the Word. Just like the Garden of Eden. Listen to the Master.
John 10:9-11 (KJV)
9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

Deuteronomy 28:2 (KJV)
2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God. (Bold added)
Deuteronomy 28:15 (KJV)
15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: (Bold added)
I hope that we all can see the far and away best choice. Then why have we all at one or more times in our lives and perhaps even how choosing not to listen? We are not only to listen but develop faith, doubt not, and do it (Word of God). We have been doing the words of devils, traditions of men without power, just switch to the winning team. We choose death or life not God, not the devils, and not other people.
Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV)
19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
God not only gives us an open book but tells us the right answer. Who is choosing? We are.
Proverbs 18:20-21 (KJV)
20 A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Whose tongue? Our tongue!
Matthew 12:35-37 (KJV)
35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
What brings about evil or good in each of our lives? Our thoughts and our word! Quit blaming God, the devil, or other people. Let us take responsibility repent and change our thoughts and thus the words of our mouth and have the abundance of John 10:10. One last thought. We blame God with phrases like; “God is in control” and “I don’t understand what He is doing (to me) but I trust Him”. Looking back at verse eight of our primary text we see Jerusalem ruined for rejecting the Messiah. The Church (Judah) is fallen for they are not doing the Word of the Lord, only full of bravado without faith.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
