WATER FOR THE THIRSTY
Greetings dear children of God on this first day of August 2023. We are well over half way through the year already. One might say where has the time gone. Another might say, have we used that time most efficiently for the Kingdom of God. Let’s consider the Words of the Lord through the Apostle Paul.
Ephesians 5:15-17 (KJV)
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
That word “redeeming” means making the best use of our time. Have we made the best use of our time? Please take a moment and share this Bible teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. The featured picture was provided by Marilyn Stevens who takes some absolutely amazing wildlife pictures. What a beautiful bird featured today. Thank you Marilyn.
Before I move forward, I want to extend an invitation to all who are not to become partners with this Ministry. And don’t forget I have several books I have written and are available on Amazon.

Now, let’s focus our attention on today’s primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 44:1-5 (KJV)
1 Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:
2 Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.
3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
4 And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.
5 One shall say, I am the LORD’S; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the LORD, and surname himself by the name of Israel.
Isn’t the Word of God just so wonderful? We are such a blessed people. It seems we lose sight of the fact that things have not always been as we now have them. How much of our Bible did Moses have to start with? What about Adam, what about Cain and Able and so on? Let’s go ahead and pick up with verse three today. This verse helps us with distinguishing between the pouring out of the Word and the Holy Spirit. In our text we first see the pouring of water (Word of God) and then we see the pouring of His Spirit. The “seed” is the Word of God. There is no manifestation of the Holy Spirit absent the Word.
Mark 16:19-20 (KJV)
19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
I wanted to draw our attention to this fact so that we can properly interpret the following passage.
Joel 2:23 (KJV)
23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
This is describing an outpouring of the Word, the Old Testament, and the New Testament.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow as we close out yet another week.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. (Bold added)
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. (Bold added)
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
