STRANGERS FEEDING YOUR FLOCKS

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to The Three Minute Word and our enabling study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. We are such a favored people to have the Word of God to light our path. Many of the people we read about in this wonderful Book, the Book that is our life, did not have what we have to guide them but still they did wonderful things. They walked in all the light they had; they were obedient to all of the Word they had. Of course, there were other who did not and their lives, outcomes, are a powerful example for our learning. The featured picture today is the State House in Phoenix Arizona. This is to remind us to pray for our government. In addition to prayer, we take Spirit led action.
Ezra 7:25-26 (NKJV)
25 And you, Ezra, according to your God-given wisdom, set magistrates and judges who may judge all the people who are in the region beyond the River, all such as know the laws of your God; and teach those who do not know them.
26 Whoever will not observe the law of your God and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily on him, whether it be death, or banishment, or confiscation of goods, or imprisonment.
Is this still the will of God? Of course it is! Be reminded that the structure of our government with three co-equal branched of government comes right out of Scripture. This guards against an excessive concentration of power in one person’s hand.
Isaiah 33:22 (NKJV)
22 (For the LORD is our Judge, The LORD is our Lawgiver, The LORD is our King; He will save us);
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud, yes, out loud. How does faith come?
Isaiah 61:4-7 (NKJV)
4 And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations.
5 Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, And the sons of the foreigner Shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
6 But you shall be named the priests of the LORD, They shall call you the servants of our God. You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, And in their glory you shall boast.
7 Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs.
Are strangers feeding our flocks and tending to our businesses? One might say, I don’t have any flocks or businesses. If not, why not? This is the will of God. Is it sin to be out of the will of God? Does sin open the door to the curse? Verse five of our primary Bible text tells us quite plainly that “Strangers shall” and the “foreigner shall”. These are commands. What have we done with them? Are they taught in our Churches?
As we plunge into verse six, we find that we “shall be named the priests of the Lord” and be called “servants of our God”. Is that present in our lives, yours, mine? We have already been made priests and kings in the Kingdom of God at salvation, what have we done with it.
Revelation 1:5-6 (NKJV)
5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,
6 and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
What have we done with this?
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
