Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to The Three Minute Word and our enabling study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. We are such a favored people to have the Word of God to light our path. Many of the people we read about in this wonderful Book, the Book that is our life, did not have what we have to guide them but still they did wonderful things. They walked in all the light they had; they were obedient to all of the Word they had. Of course, there were other who did not and their lives, outcomes, are a powerful example for our learning. The featured picture today is the State House in Little Rock Arkansas. This is to remind us to pray for our government. In addition to prayer, we take Spirit led action.
Ezra 7:25-26 (NKJV)
25 And you, Ezra, according to your God-given wisdom, set magistrates and judges who may judge all the people who are in the region beyond the River, all such as know the laws of your God; and teach those who do not know them.
26 Whoever will not observe the law of your God and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily on him, whether it be death, or banishment, or confiscation of goods, or imprisonment.
Is this still the will of God? Of course it is! Be reminded that the structure of our government with three co-equal branched of government comes right out of Scripture. This guards against an excessive concentration of power in one person’s hand.
Isaiah 33:22 (NKJV)
22 (For the LORD is our Judge, The LORD is our Lawgiver, The LORD is our King; He will save us);
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud, yes, out loud. How does faith come? How is faith released?
Isaiah 61:4-7 (NKJV)
4 And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations.
5 Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, And the sons of the foreigner Shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
6 But you shall be named the priests of the LORD, They shall call you the servants of our God. You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, And in their glory you shall boast.
7 Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs.
Yesterday we started to deal with verse six, so I will pick up right there again today. Do we regularly intercede for those around us especially our families, those of our house (extended family), and others as the Lord leads? This can be life or death, pivotal for those the Lord leads us to intercede, pray, for. Let’s look at an important Scripture concerning priesthood.
Hosea 4:6 (NKJV)
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.
The knowledge being spoken of here is revelation knowledge. It is a rejection of the Truth and the adoption of the lie. This disqualifies us from being an effective priest. The “law of your God” is the law above all laws, love. Failure to walk in love put our children in jeopardy. I didn’t write all of this! What about the (b) portion of verse six which reads as follows: “You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, And in their glory you shall boast.” This is yet another verse talking about our prosperity right here and now, manifest in the natural realm. This is another verse talking about the wealth transfer from the Gentiles (heathen) to the body of Christ (individual persons in the body). Perhaps one of our greatest examples is the children of Israel coming out of Egypt.
Psalm 105:37 (NKJV)
37 He also brought them out with silver and gold, And there was none feeble among His tribes.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
