Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and welcome back to our study of this phenomenal Bible Book of Isaiah. Of course, all of Scripture is phenomenal for its Words are Anointed and have Life. When planted in good soil these Words will bring forth 30, 60, and 100-fold in our lives. This is New Year’s Eve so Donna and I wish all a very happy, prosperous, and healthy New Year! In order for 2025 to be happier, more prosperous, and healthier a change must occur. Guess what has to change? You and me, particularly in our thought life and words!
3 John 1:2 (NKJV)
2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
The featured picture is of a fireworks display. Now, let’s delve (investigate, research, probe, dig) into our primary Bible text from this Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud. Even next year I’m going to continue to tell you to read out loud.
Isaiah 62:1-5 (NKJV)
1 For Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace, And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, Until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, And her salvation as a lamp that burns.
2 The Gentiles shall see your righteousness, And all kings your glory. You shall be called by a new name, Which the mouth of the LORD will name.
3 You shall also be a crown of glory In the hand of the LORD, And a royal diadem In the hand of your God.
4 You shall no longer be termed Forsaken, Nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate; But you shall be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; For the LORD delights in you, And your land shall be married.
5 For as a young man marries a virgin, So shall your sons marry you; And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, So shall your God rejoice over you.
As progress forward into verse three today we see the Father continuing to talk to the Son through the Prophet Isaiah. By way of bringing clarity let’s look at verses three and four in the Message Bible.
Isaiah 62:3-4 (MSG)
3 You’ll be a stunning crown in the palm of GOD’s hand, a jeweled gold cup held high in the hand of your God.
4 No more will anyone call you Rejected, and your country will no more be called Ruined. You’ll be called Hephzibah (My Delight), and your land Beulah (Married), Because GOD delights in you and your land will be like a wedding celebration.
However, what came before this exaltation to the right hand of the Father?
Isaiah 53:2-4 (NKJV)
2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him.
3 He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for redeeming me, redeeming all who will receive you, there is no greater love.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
