Greetings and welcome back to this engaging study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. What a wonderful Lord we have to give us His light, His thoughts, and Words. If we are stumbling in the dark it is by our choice. Revelation is not hidden from us, but for us. Revelation is not automatic. We must seek after Him with all of our hearts. Well, 2025 is off and running, what are you changing to make this year better than last? I don’t care and I don’t think the Lord cares how good 2024 was, this year needs to be better. The featured picture is of the State House in Indianapolis Indiana. It is pictured to remind us to pray for all in authority including those in our government. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text reading out loud, yes, out loud.
Isaiah 62:6-9 (NKJV)
6 I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent,
7 And give Him no rest till He establishes And till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
8 The LORD has sworn by His right hand And by the arm of His strength: “Surely I will no longer give your grain As food for your enemies; And the sons of the foreigner shall not drink your new wine, For which you have labored.
9 But those who have gathered it shall eat it, And praise the LORD; Those who have brought it together shall drink it in My holy courts.”
As we come into verse eight, we see the Trinity. Many argue that the Bible does not teach the Trinity but we see it here and in many other places. The concept of One God yet manifest in three persons is difficult in our current state but it is evident in Scripture. The way I think of it is as three persons who are exactly alike in thought, Word, and deed. In addition to that neither the Son nor the Spirit move without the Word of the Father. Three functioning as One.
First let’s look at the word “LORD” in our text. This word is transliterated to English as yhwh (expressed as yad hay vah hay) meaning to be self-Existent or Eternal according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. This would be the one we call Father God. “His right hand” would be the one we call Jesus. “The arm of His strength” is Holy Spirit. Isn’t the Word of God just so wonderful? The LORD then assures those who are His that the day is coming when their gain will not go to others but be a blessing in their own houses. It seems to me that this is more directed as His first Covenant peoples, the Jews, than the Church. This is how the Church, individually, and corporately, are to be operating now. The Jewish people who have believed on Christ Jesus during the Tribulation and are harbored in Petra will be the constituents of Israel a nation before Him forever and live as children of God.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
