Greetings and welcome back to this engaging study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. What a wonderful Lord we have to give us His light, His thoughts, and Words. If we are stumbling in the dark it is by our choice. Revelation is not hidden from us, but for us. Revelation is not automatic. We must seek after Him with all of our hearts. Well, 2025 is off and running, what are you changing to make this year better than last? I don’t care and I don’t think the Lord cares how good 2024 was, this year needs to be better. The featured picture is of the Governor’s Mansion in Springfield Illinois. It is pictured to remind us to pray for all in authority including those in our government. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text reading out loud, yes, out loud.
Isaiah 62:6-9 (NKJV)
6 I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent,
7 And give Him no rest till He establishes And till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
8 The LORD has sworn by His right hand And by the arm of His strength: “Surely I will no longer give your grain As food for your enemies; And the sons of the foreigner shall not drink your new wine, For which you have labored.
9 But those who have gathered it shall eat it, And praise the LORD; Those who have brought it together shall drink it in My holy courts.”
The word translated from Hebrew to English in verse six as “watchmen” occurs 468 times most commonly translated as to keep 283, observe 46, heed 35, keeper 28, preserve 21, beware 9, mark 8, watchman 8, wait 7, watch 7, regard 5, save 2, miscellaneous translations 9 for a total Count of 468 according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Now, imagine an ancient city with a wall around it. Inside the walls is safety and outside the walls there is risk. Think of the Church and the world. The Church if they stay inside the walls are safe, enjoy the fruits, the blessings of salvation but outside the wall in the world doing worldly things are open to the curse. The walls are the boundaries God has established to keep His children safe. The watchmen are those who are always talking about the thoughts, the Words, and ways of God which provides 100% safety and the need to abide (live) within those walls rejecting all worldly thoughts, words (talk), and ways. Entering the Kingdom of God like entering another country, it requires one to think differently, talk differently, and to do differently to function successfully.
As we shift into verse seven notice the “Him” in “give Him no rest” is capitalized. This capitalization indicates the presence of deity. In this case Scripture is referencing the coming Messiah, Jesus, their and our Redeemer. We are to give Him no rest, we are to be talking to Him day and night. We are to keep pressing into our Lord, the Messiah, until Jerusalem is the praise of the earth. When will that be? That will be at the Second Coming of Christ (not the Rapture or Catching Away) when He rules the world for a thousand years from Jerusalem.

Revelation 20:6 (KJV)
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
