Greetings and welcome back to this engaging study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. What a wonderful Lord we have to give us His light, His thoughts, and Words. If we are stumbling in the dark it is by our choice. Revelation is not hidden from us, but for us. Revelation is not automatic. We must seek after Him with all of our hearts. Well, 2025 is off and running, what are you changing to make this year better than last? I don’t care and I don’t think the Lord cares how good 2024 was, this year needs to be better. The featured picture is of the State House in Topeka Kansas. It is pictured to remind us to pray for all in authority including those in our government. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text reading out loud, yes, out loud.
Isaiah 63:1-4 (NKJV)
1 Who is this who comes from Edom, With dyed garments from Bozrah, This One who is glorious in His apparel, Traveling in the greatness of His strength?– “I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.”
2 Why is Your apparel red, And Your garments like one who treads in the winepress?
3 “I have trodden the winepress alone, And from the peoples no one was with Me. For I have trodden them in My anger, And trampled them in My fury; Their blood is sprinkled upon My garments, And I have stained all My robes.
4 For the day of vengeance is in My heart, And the year of My redeemed has come.
You probably know but this Book of Isaiah has 66 chapters which is the same as the number of Books in the Bible. Some say that the Book of Isaiah mirrors the content of the Bible. That is with the earlier chapters of Isaiah reflecting more Old Testament themes and Prophecy looking forward and the later chapters reflecting more upon the Church age and end time events. The passage that we are studying, reflecting upon, today seems to be of a time just before the battle of Armageddon and the leading of the saints back to earth accompanying Him in His Second Coming. Could this be a picture of Jesus crushing Islam and leading the redeemed Jews out of Edom, modern day Jordan, and the city of Petra? It seems that before the great battle of Armageddon there was another battle which He conducted alone. Notice in the following passage that His vesture is dipped in blood from that battle. In the passage to follow, we the redeemed are lined up behind our Lord Jesus to go to Jerusalem and the great battle of Armageddon which the armies of the world will be annihilated.
Revelation 19:11-16 (KJV)
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Perhaps you have notice that even though we are with Him, the battle is His, we are witnesses to His triumph over great evil. Justice is returned to the earth. There will be great peace throughout the earth and the redeemed will rule with Jesus for 1000 years.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
