Greetings dear children of God and those who are running from God, to those who practice love (agapē) and those who think they do. Welcome back to this enlightening, engaging, and empowering study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. The featured picture today is of the Governor’s Mansion in Jefferson City Missouri. The purpose is to remind us all of the importance of praying for, obeying, and honoring those in authority. Now, let’s cast our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud, yes, out loud.
Isaiah 63:17-19 (NKJV)
17 O LORD, why have You made us stray from Your ways, And hardened our heart from Your fear? Return for Your servants’ sake, The tribes of Your inheritance.
18 Your holy people have possessed it but a little while; Our adversaries have trodden down Your sanctuary.
19 We have become like those of old, over whom You never ruled, Those who were never called by Your name.
Wow, we are very close to the end of another chapter, three more to go and our study of Isaiah will be finished (started May 24th, 2021). The people (God’s people and perhaps Isaiah) have been griping but now it seems to be dawning on them that they had a central role in this process, situation. They admit that they made a decision that He was not going to rule them and therefore were not called by His name. Let us dear ones be sure that Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are first with no close second in all things and we are known by His name.
Exodus 20:1-6 (KJV)
1 And God spake all these words, saying,
2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
God, the Father, by the sacrifice of God the Son, Jesus, through the Eternal Spirit purchased us and took out of bondage changing our destination from Hell to Heaven. We were bound by sin, the curse, in the kingdom of darkness now we are in the Kingdom of His dear Son, the Kingdom of Light. Anything that comes before God is another god and is sin, it is idolatry. Anyone, anything, any activity or event that takes first place is another god, it is sin, and it puts one in the darkness and bait for the demons. Many times, we think it is no big deal to miss Church but it is a big deal for each one of us has a part in the body and it cannot function to full capacity when we are not in our place.
Ephesians 4:16 (KJV)
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
Yes, dear one, you are vital to the local body of Christ and the greater body as well.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
