Greetings precious saints of God and welcome back to this intriguing and enabling study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. We are such a blessed people to have the Words of God, the thoughts of God to guide our way into all the blessing. Who but our God would know what Words would just as applicable now as then? Who but our God could Anoint all of His Words which when coupled with our faith would bring manifestation? The featured picture is of the State House in Bismarck North Dakota to remind us to pray for all in authority. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text, in you guess it, the Book of Isaiah. Please continue to read out loud, yes, out loud.

Isaiah 65:1-5 (NKJV)

1 “I was sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was found by those who did not seek Me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am,’ To a nation that was not called by My name.

2 I have stretched out My hands all day long to a rebellious people, Who walk in a way that is not good, According to their own thoughts;

3 A people who provoke Me to anger continually to My face; Who sacrifice in gardens, And burn incense on altars of brick;

4 Who sit among the graves, And spend the night in the tombs; Who eat swine’s flesh, And the broth of abominable things is in their vessels;

5 Who say, ‘Keep to yourself, Do not come near me, For I am holier than you!’ These are smoke in My nostrils, A fire that burns all the day.

Perhaps we can’t imagine people sitting among graves and sitting in the tombs at night. What about going to the fortune teller, palm reader, reading the horoscope or consulting our sign, or even attending a seance or using a Ouija board? What about going to the graveyard and talking to the dead body beneath the ground? What about talking to the ashes of the departed on the mantle in our home? As we enter verse five the Lord is continuing with something that really inflames Him. Do you suppose any of this goes on today between denominations or even regarding those we consider to be in a cult? If you have inhaled smoke, you know how irritating that can be to the nostrils, imagine a fire in the nostrils. Take a look at the Message Bible.

Isaiah 65:4-5 (MSG)

4 They spend the night in tombs to get messages from the dead, Eat forbidden foods and drink a witch’s brew of potions and charms.

5 They say, ‘Keep your distance. Don’t touch me. I’m holier than thou.’ These people gag me. I can’t stand their stench.

Let’s continue a couple of more verses.

Isaiah 65:6-7 (NKJV)

6 “Behold, it is written before Me: I will not keep silence, but will repay– Even repay into their bosom–

7 Your iniquities and the iniquities of your fathers together,” Says the LORD, “Who have burned incense on the mountains And blasphemed Me on the hills; Therefore I will measure their former work into their bosom.”

I want us all to notice that this pronouncement of justice, punishment for sin and the iniquities of the fathers is directly related to idol worship.

Exodus 20:2-6 (KJV)

2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
