JUDE – PART TWENTY-SIX
Greetings precious saints of God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob/Israel. Welcome back to this enlightening and thought-provoking study of the Book of Jude. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. You are a blessing to the Kingdom of God, this Ministry, as well as Donna and me individually. It blesses us to see that you value these teaching enough to share.
This Bible Book of Jude speaks to faith and disbelief, even the controversial topic of backsliding (going from unsaved to saved then by choice back to unsaved). Nobody “loses” their salvation like one might lose some personal item. It is a conscious deliberate choice. Just as going from the kingdom of darkness to light was a choice, so is going back to the kingdom of darkness. Unfortunately, this idea of changing kingdoms is intertwined often with the idea of predestination. We are all predestined for the Kingdom of God but many either refuse to accept salvation or once saved choose to go back into darkness. Perhaps the greatest problem with the doctrine of predestination is it violates the law of freewill.
John 3:16 (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Jesus came for all who will receive Him not a few preselected folks (predestined).
2 Peter 3:9 (KJV)
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
It is not the will of God for anyone to perish in this life or the next (go to Hell).
Revelation 3:5 (KJV)
5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Everyone’s name is in the book of life, but many must be removed for they did not overcome, they did not confess Jesus as Lord and Savior and now Jesus cannot confess their name before the Father. What a sad day for those people.
Of course, we see this process of exercising our freewill all the time in the natural. A person marries and divorces, or one disavows their American citizenship and becomes a citizen of another country. We leave one job for another. I believe the reality of people going from light headed to Heaven then choosing to go back into darkness and Hell is established in this Book of Jude. This spiritual reality is obvious in many other places as well. Our God is a wonderfully good God and gives multiple warnings in multiple ways.
Now, let’s turn to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud, yes, out loud, you know why.
Jude 1:7-11 (KJV)
7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
We are picking up with verse eight this week. Let’s take a look at it in the Message Bible.
Jude 1:8 (MSG)
8 This is exactly the same program of these latest infiltrators: dirty sex, rule and rulers thrown out, glory dragged in the mud.
I will deal further with this verse next Saturday especially the “rule and rulers” and in the KJV “despise dominion”.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. The Lord is good and He cannot lie!

13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. (Bold added)
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
