THE KINGDOM OF GOD – PART ONE
THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS WITHIN YOU

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome to another edition of The Three Minute Word and the start of a whole new study titled “The Kingdom of God”. The Lord has been dealing with me about this topic for some time. More recently I believe the Lord has brought more references and teaching about The Kingdom of God to my attention.
So, let’s dive into our topic. Let me mention that this will be a multi-month study for there are 163 references to the Kingdom in the New Testament. Jesus primarily taught the Kingdom of God. In the Bible Book of Matthew, we see the term Kingdom of Heaven, don’t let that throw you off it is the same as the Kingdom of God. Our anchor Scripture is the following.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Jesus said the first thing we should seek is the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. He didn’t say we should seek Him, the Father or the Holy Spirit first but the Kingdom and His righteousness. How often do we hear that we are to seek after God first? Well, that is not what Jesus said and He said only what the Father said. One might ask, where is the Kingdom of God and when did it start. To answer the second question first, I suspect the Kingdom of God has always existed but what we have knowledge of is the last 6000 years. Where is the Kingdom of God? Some might say in Heaven and yes while that is true it is not isolated to Heaven. Jesus tells where the Kingdom is located. We will get to all of this in time. We will be going back to the beginning. But, first let’s see something that Jesus said about the Kingdom of God.
Luke 17:21 (KJV)
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Notice He did not say you are the Kingdom of God but that the Kingdom is within us. A kingdom is all that is within the kings domain. The Apostle Paul went on to tell us that the Kingdom of God is spiritual not physical. That is not to say there are not physical manifestations, but they are secondary. These secondary manifestations are a testimony to the Kings domain. Remember, there are no physical manifestations without a spiritual root, none.
Romans 14:17 (KJV)
17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
The Kingdom of God is not natural or material things but supernatural or immaterial things, things of the spirit. Since God does not change, we can very safely be assured this has always been the case, perhaps from eternity past and certainly for eternity future (for us). The natural things are secondary manifestation or evidence that we are obedient to the command to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Look at our anchor Scripture once again as I close for today.

Until next time remember, the Lord is good, He is not the source of our problems, and He cannot lie! God loves you; we love you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
