ENLARGE THE PLACE OF YOUR TENT

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this engaging study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. The Lord is really good. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you helping us expand our reach with the gospel. That you for valuing this enough to share. The featured picture is of a duck on the water and was supplied by Marilyn Stevens who takes really great wildlife pictures. Thank you, Marilyn.
We just finished Chapter 53, if anyone has a question of the goodness of our God, reread it, study it. Perhaps a new reader is saying: I don’t know that I believe all that about God, Heaven and Hell. And, what about that whole prosperity thing?
Psalm 14:1 (KJV)
1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
Proverbs 10:22 (KJV)
22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
No little one, this is not talking only about spiritual riches although this is included today. Read Genesis 12:1-3, was Abram/Abraham only rich spiritually or was he really rich in natural goods including silver and gold? Look around, kick your brain into gear, all of this did not just float together by happenstance. What a foolish thought.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read our loud. Yes, out loud. Rebellious sheep are lunchmeat for the roaring lion.
Isaiah 54:1-5 (KJV)
1 Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.
2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;
3 For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.
4 Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.
5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.
As we proceed into verse two, we are told to do some things to prepare for the increase. If you have one barn that holds 100 bushels but you have seed in the ground for 1000 bushels, do you have a plan as to the handling of the other 900 bushels? God has a wide variety of ways that He enlarges us but it always requires steps of faith on our part. I remember a testimony of a man who was believing God for an airplane to be more efficient. The Lord sent him to rent a hanger at the airport before the airplane showed up. The airport manager was confused and thought he was, but through the favor of God he got a hanger and then the plane came. I think all too many Christians think that increase is going to come into their lives by gifts of various sorts and of course that happens but generally there is something that we must do. It won’t be hard or burdensome (Matthew 11:30) but it will require steps of faith. As I close for today, consider the following verse.
Luke 19:11-13 (KJV)
11 And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.
12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
The nobleman is Jesus, the far country is Heaven, and He is coming back and will get an accounting from each and every one of us. The word “occupy” in the 13th verse means to busy oneself with, to trade, to occupy according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Jesus is calling us to be in health and prosper being the witness He has made and paid the awful price for us to be.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember the Lord is good, never evil, and He cannot lie.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
