FAR FROM OPPRESSION
Video link: https://youtu.be/sSkAGpcgFT0
Greetings precious saints of God and any pre-saints who are reading and welcome back to this enlightening study of this Bible Book of Isaiah. Before going forward please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for valuing these teaching enough to share with others. The featured picture today is a reminder to pray continually for the Seven Pillars (Spheres) of Society. We the Church, the individuals of the body of Christ, are to bring light into the spheres to which God has equipped and assigned us. We are to bring excellence and the solutions to problems everywhere we go with all humility and submission to authority.
1 Timothy 2:1-4 (ESV)
1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people,
2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior,
4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful Book of Isaiah. Please continue to read out loud.
Isaiah 54:13-17 (ESV)
13 All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children.
14 In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you.
15 If anyone stirs up strife, it is not from me; whoever stirs up strife with you shall fall because of you.
16 Behold, I have created the smith who blows the fire of coals and produces a weapon for its purpose. I have also created the ravager to destroy;
17 no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and their vindication from me, declares the LORD.”
Let us not forget that these wonderful promises concerning our children is not automatic, we have a vital role to play. We always have a vital part. Let’s review the first five verses of this chapter to rediscover our part. First, our part includes maintaining joy, which is a calm delight. This is our responsibility, not His, and our joy is not based on emotion, feeling like it. Second is preparing for enlargement. Third we are to fear not. This one is critical for He comes back to this in verse fourteen. Fourth we are not to allow shame of yesteryear color today or our future. Fifth, no looking back only forward into His wonderful future for us.
As we do these things, we will possess the promises of verse thirteen. More importantly our children will possess them being taught of the Lord and walking in peace (the same peace as the Lord). Now, as we shift more of our attention to verse 14 of our primary text, we find that these actions establish us in righteousness, we will be far from oppression, and from terror. Now, here it comes again, we “shalt not fear”. Let’s take a look at the word “oppression”. This word was translated from Hebrew to English as ʿōsheq meaning to have injury, fraud, distress, unjust gain, cruelly, and extortion according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. It seems to me we will gain discernment and avoid the deceptions of the demons that can be injurious to our liberty (antonym to oppression). Fear is to be avoided at all costs for it has torment and leads us on a path opposite love. Here’s the thing, who is more reliable? God or Satan? I know all the religious people shouted “God of course” but does our life reflect that fruit?
What about terror? This word is translated from Hebrew to English as meḥittâ meaning destruction, ruin, terror. This word comes from the verb ḥāt̠at̠ <H2865>, meaning to be broken or afraid according to The Complete Word Study Dictionary – Old Testament. I want to point out that this word is feminine in gender whereas oppression was masculine. Have you ever noticed how fear multiplies in a room? Notice verse fourteen starts with “In righteousness shalt thou be established”. This is not automatic. From above; “First, our part includes maintaining joy, which is a calm delight. This is our responsibility, not His, and our joy is not based on emotion, feeling like it. Second is preparing for enlargement. Third we are to fear not. This one is critical for He comes back to this in verse fourteen. Fourth we are not to allow shame of yesteryear color today or our future. Fifth, no looking back only forward into His wonderful future for us.”
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. The Lord is good, He is faithful, and He cannot lie.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
