EVERLASTING COVENANT
Video link: https://youtu.be/Y4efS203tak
Greetings dear and precious saints and welcome to July, the second half of the year. Also, welcome back to this insightful study of the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah. Before we move forward, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. It is so encouraging that you value these teachings enough to share. The featured picture depicts David with the head of Goliath. Think about this. David in this case represents (type and shadow) Jesus, and Goliath Satan. The Philistines represent Satan’s people and just as that army was destroyed that day so has the hold of the world on the earth been destroyed. When Jesus arose from the grave, He was victorious over death and Hell. Satan was thoroughly humiliated, his head removed, all authority removed.
Genesis 3:15 (ESV)
15 I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”
God is so good to give us such a wonderful roadmap for our lives. A roadmap for an optimal life here and all that comes after here. Opposition comes but we are well equipped in Christ Jesus to repel him and recognize his deceptions. Prosperity in every arena of life is God’s idea. He’s very prosperous you know. He is our Daddy. Scripture says Jesus inherited it all and we are joint-heirs with Him. Awaken dear ones! Why does much of the Church gobble up the poverty suffering gospel? It is a false gospel! One taught to the Church by the world and one further perpetrated in many Churches. The fact that the devils people promote poverty in the Church especially among the clergy should tell us everything we need to know.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible Text in the Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud. Warning, this is a lengthy teaching.
Isaiah 55:1-5 (ESV)
1 “Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
2 Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food.
3 Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love for David.
4 Behold, I made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander for the peoples.
5 Behold, you shall call a nation that you do not know, and a nation that did not know you shall run to you, because of the LORD your God, and of the Holy One of Israel, for he has glorified you.
Today we will deal a little more with the “everlasting covenant” and God’s “sure love for David”. The first seeds of this everlasting covenant (Blood Covenant) started on the Day of Sin and Death. David, later King David was a man after God’s own heart. Once the Prophet Nathan confronts David and repentance takes place, God never mentions his sins again. Why can’t we seem to let go of our sins of which we have repented or the sins of others?
Acts 13:22-23 (ESV)
22 And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, ‘I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’
23 Of this man’s offspring God has brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, as he promised.
Now the trail of Redemption Blood.
Genesis 3:21 (ESV)
21 And the LORD God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them.
An innocent animal shed blood that day, an atonement.
Genesis 15:17-18 (ESV)
17 When the sun had gone down and it was dark, behold, a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch passed between these pieces.
18 On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your offspring I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates,
Verse seventeen is telling us of the parties to the Everlasting Covenant bringing the Messiah. The Father has been speaking. The “smoking fire pot” is the Holy Spirit through whom Jesus accomplished all (Hebrews 9:14). The “flaming torch” is Jesus Himself. Verse eighteen is the divine land deed given to Israel forever.
Genesis 22:12-13 (ESV)
12 He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.”
13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son.
This day made the coming of Messiah certain, the Law of Reciprocity was invoked.
Mark 15:34-38 (KJV)
34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
35 And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.
36 And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.
37 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.
38 And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.
It is done, it is finished! Thank God for Abraham, for David, and most of all Christ Jesus!
Hebrews 13:20 (KJV)
20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. Tomorrow is a special teaching associated with our celebration of the 4th of July.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
