LED FORTH WITH PEACE

Greetings dear followers of The Three Minute Word and partners with our Ministry. Welcome back to this study of the wonderful Prophetic and instructive Book of Isaiah. The featured picture today is a reminder to each of us to pray for the Seven Mountains of our culture. Each of us, yes, you and me, are assigned to one or more of these mountains. You and I are specifically equipped by God to function in our assigned mountains with excellence influencing that part of our culture for righteousness.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text for today continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 55:10-13 (KJV)
10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
I will pick up once again with verse twelve and the ideas of going out with joy and being led forth with peace. Let’s review joy in this context in the Hebrew. It is a feminine noun meaning joy, rejoicing, gladness, pleasure. It refers to the reality, the experience and manifestation of joy and gladness. It refers to a celebration of something with joyful and cheerful activities according to The Complete Word Study Dictionary – Old Testament. The celebration is being free of the curse and that freedom was the result of repentance and obedience. These were in bondage to the Assyrians however many in the body of Christ and all outside of the body of Christ are in bondages just as terrible.
Let’s give a little more thought to the idea of being led forth with peace. Let me remind us all once again that these things do not just automatically function in our lives. We must have knowledge or them which is the Truth and we have developed faith in that knowledge. If one is a touchy feely Christian, having to “feel” something in prayer, in service, or elsewhere these things will not work, that is all of the flesh. These feelings are primarily the result of pleasure hormones (dopamine) being released in the brain in response, usually to music. Let’s look at another Scripture which gives us great insight to walking or being led of peace.
Philippians 4:4-8 (NIV)
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.
We rejoice on purpose dear ones not just if and when we feel like it. Be gentle with ALL people for the Lord is watching. Then we get the command to not be anxious about anything. If He said to do it, we can do it. This is not reactions to emotions or natural evidence but our knowledge of who we are in Him and who He is. This is also resisting the devil. We talk to God about the situation, address the situation according to His leadership and couple that with thanksgiving. The thanksgiving is not for the situation tempting us to be anxious but for our absolute dominance over it in Him, in His name. His peace then will augment our expression of peace making a complete impenetrable peace. This is not emotion or feelings, this is knowledge (Truth) acted upon in faith as we walk in love. This peace that rises up from our spirit and from the Holy Spirit guards our minds (thoughts) and our inner most thoughts concerning ourselves. Then He tells us what to think about. Yes, we can do it, we do it in obedience to Christ as a function of our will.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. The Lord is good and He has only good in His plan for us.
