Greetings dear and precious friends and saints and welcome back to this teaching from 1st John. Going forward I believe the Lord will have us examine Second and Third John as well. It seems that this year is passing at light speed, Thanksgiving was yesterday and Christmas looms straight ahead, then it is 2024. Have we used our time wisely, for the Kingdom? Are we following hard after the Lord making the best use of our time? Please take a moment and share this, and all other teachings, as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. The Lord is so good, to give us His Word, to shine light on His abundant path for our lives. Before I move to our primary Bible text, let me remind you all of two things. One, is to be prayerful about becoming a partner, a regular financial donor to this Ministry, to support our Kingdom mission. Two, if you have not yet acquired my book “Be Love” do so today. This makes a wonderful Christmas present! Resist procrastination and pull the trigger right now, the link is below!

Now let’s turn our full attention to our primary Bible text for today. Are you reading out loud?
1 John 1:5-10 (KJV)
5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Today I will be focusing in on the seventh verse and the phrase “we have fellowship one with another”. Let’s look at this verse in the Amplified Bible.
1 John 1:7 (AMP)
7 But if we [really] are living and walking in the Light, as He [Himself] is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses (removes) us from all sin and guilt [keeps us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations].
It would be easy to conclude that fellowship between believers is the message here but if we look closely, I do not see that as the proper dividing of the Word. Who are the principals in this passage, this seventh verse? First is the Lord Jesus and second is us as individuals. We can walk with Him with unconfessed sin of which we are as yet ignorant of (key point) and He will cleanse us with His Blood. This is not for the lazy Christian who is not studying and seeking the ways of the Lord with all of their hearts. Our God is merciful and patient and when He sees us striving to be perfect as He is perfect, He gives us Grace. This explains how we can walk with Him even in our very flawed states on our way to maturity, perfection as He is perfect. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for mercy and Grace.
I realize that I use a lot of space and time for my book ad but I am not aware of a more important topic for the body of Christ than knowing about, doing, and being love, the same love that God exercises towards us.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Friday with this exciting study of the Book of 1st John.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
