THE KINGDOM OF GOD – PART TWENTY-THREE
HAVE YOU ENTERED GOD’S REST?

Greetings dear ones and welcome back to this enlightening study of The Kingdom of God and repentance. In the case of the Kingdom of God especially, repentance is a beautiful word full of grace and mercy. The new year is off and running. What is your assignment today and for the year? You have one and according to Scripture it is to be our first priority. Let’s jump now to our anchor Scripture for this series.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Again, I ask, do we really understand this Scripture and are we doing this Scripture or are we reading it or listening to it and quickly moving on to whatever is next. Do you want to live in this cursed system or live in the rest of God.
Hebrews 4:8-12 (NKJV)
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day.
9 There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.
10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.
12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Are you living by your own efforts or are you focused on your assignments in the Kingdom of God and allowing the Lord to bring His provision (rest of God). This can look different in many ways, one from the other but it will always be better than what we can do on our own in this cursed sweat and toil system. Now let’s take a look at our next Scripture in our teaching.
Matthew 11:11-12 (NKJV)
11 “Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.
The eleventh verse is quite a mouthful from the Master. First, He says that no one born up until the time of John the Baptist was greater than John the Baptist. Jesus goes on to say that the least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than John the Baptist. The Kingdom of Heaven was available to all who would when Jesus was raised from the dead (spiritual and physical). I would point out however that a few accessed the benefits of the Kingdom of Heaven (God) before that including John the Baptist Himself who was filled with the Holy Spirit in his mother’s womb. The centurium with the sick servant, the Syrophoenician woman with the possessed daughter, and the Samaritan woman at the well. Jesus said that the person born again, saved, born from above, ten minutes ago was greater than John the Baptist who was the greatest of all the Old Testament peoples.
TAKE HOME:
- Our number one assignment is to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness which is conformity to the will and nature of God, right actions with right attitudes, and walking in integrity which is consistency of thought, words, and actions.
- We are by diligence to enter the rest of God.
- Anyone by faith can obtain any good thing from the Lord.
As the Lord wills I will resume these teachings right here next Saturday. Tomorrow is a special teaching titled “The Seed of Satan is Flourishing in the Church”. We love you; the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
