THE KINGDOM OF GOD – PART TWENTY-FIVE
ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY OVER EVIL SPIRITS

Greetings dear ones and welcome back to this enlightening study of The Kingdom of God and repentance. In the case of the Kingdom of God especially, repentance is a beautiful word full of grace and mercy. The new year is off and running. What is your assignment today and for the year? You have one and according to Scripture it is to be our first priority. Let’s jump now to our anchor Scripture for this series.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Once again, I ask, do we understand this command, and have we made it our first priority? Many are living their lives upside down fitting the Kingdom of God in as time allows. Then we wonder why we are not getting the manifestations of the promises of Scripture. We see the manifestations of God’s promises in Scripture and perhaps we have heard of someone or knew someone who experienced it, but it is far from common in our experience. Was it far from common in the life of Jesus? No, it was not. Didn’t He say that the things He did we were to do also? Yes, He did. Perhaps we have our life out of focus. Let’s move back to where we ended yesterday.
Matthew 12:25-28 (KJV)
25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
Jesus warned against divisions in His Kingdom yet here we are with some 4000 plus divisions in the body of Christ. The ruling religious class has accused Jesus of casting out demons by Beelzebub (Satan) and Jesus basically says to them, not even Satan is that stupid. Yet, the Church has no problem with dividing and dividing and dividing. Let’s look at the Message Bible to get some clarity.
Matthew 12:25-28 (MSG)
25 Jesus confronted their slander. “A judge who gives opposite verdicts on the same person cancels himself out; a family that’s in a constant squabble disintegrates;
26 if Satan banishes Satan, is there any Satan left?
27 If you’re slinging devil mud at me, calling me a devil kicking out devils, doesn’t the same mud stick to your own exorcists?
28 “But if it’s by God’s power that I am sending the evil spirits packing, then God’s kingdom is here for sure.
I want to point out something you may find interesting. The title or name Beelzebub, another name for Satan, means dung-god. Fecal material (dung) is commonly found at certain crime scenes and other circumstances where prominent demon activity occurred. I recently taught a sermon along these lines concerning flies. No, it wasn’t entomology 101 (study of insects). Flies represent the distracting thoughts of the enemy, the fiery darts spoken of in Ephesians chapter six. As I conclude for today Jesus is telling them in verse twenty-eight that they can know for sure that the Kingdom of Heaven is come. They know this because they are witnessing Him exercising absolute authority over demons. This did not occur in the Old Testament.
TAKE HOME:
- In the Kingdom of God, we have absolute authority over demons, but you must know that and who you are in Christ Jesus, the demons know if you’re faking it.
- Avoid divisions in your marriage, your family, and your Church and any other arena over which you have jurisdiction.
- Beelzebub, another name for Satan, meaning dung-god in the source of all evil thoughts, distracting thoughts.
