THE KINGDOM OF GOD – PART TWENTY-FOUR
AVOID ALL DIVISIONS
Video link: https://youtu.be/mqsD9cWOFxU
Greetings dear ones and welcome back to this enlightening study of The Kingdom of God and repentance. In the case of the Kingdom of God especially, repentance is a beautiful word full of grace and mercy. The new year is off and running. What is your assignment today and for the year? You have one and according to Scripture it is to be our first priority. Let’s jump now to our anchor Scripture for this series.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Once again, I would remind all of us to focus on and think about what we just read and ask ourselves if this is the reality of my life. This is a whole shift of focus compared to the world and even a high percent of Christians. The will of God is alluded to often in the Church but it’s like it is in aliquots like short term assignments. It is not commonly spoken of as being contained within an overall assignment. Now I want to turn our attention to where we left off last Saturday.
Matthew 11:11-12 (NKJV)
11 “Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.
I want us to focus for just a moment on verse twelve. You will remember that I mentioned the Kingdom of Heaven was not present for everyone until Jesus was Resurrected from the dead. Yet there were those who took at by force. A few accessed the benefits of the Kingdom of Heaven (God) before the Resurrection of Christ including John the Baptist Himself who was filled with the Holy Spirit in his mother’s womb. Others were the centurium with the sick servant, the Syrophoenician woman with the possessed daughter, and the Samaritan woman at the well. Jesus was operating fully in the Kingdom of Heaven for He as without sin, was not born with a fallen nature. You notice the text says “And from the days of John the Baptist” which is when the Ministry of Jesus began coming up out of the River Jordan. Let’s move forward before closing for today.
Matthew 12:25-28 (KJV)
25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
And we thought President Abraham Lincoln came up with that saying, no, it preceded him by some 1800 plus years. This is spiritual law. This is the strength of marriage that the two become one flesh and speak with one voice. Thinking about the body of Christ consider the hundreds perhaps thousands of divisions brought about by men. Think of Church splits sometimes over really petty things. The enemy distracted their focus and zeal turning it away from the Master and His command to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.
TAKE HOME:
- It is imperative that we avoid any division in our marriage, our home, or organization of any kind including the Church.
- Our primary aim must be our assignment(s) in the Kingdom of God and His righteousness?
- By faith, and perseverance anything good in the Kingdom of God can be obtained.
As the Lord wills I will resume these teachings right here tomorrow. We love you; the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
