WHAT KIND OF LEAVEN ARE YOU?

Greetings dear ones and welcome to Awake, Arise, and Triumph Ministries blog. Today I am continuing our study of “The Kingdom of God”. Remember the predominant theme of the Ministry of Jesus in the earth was of the Kingdom of God and repentance. Therefore, He has instructed me to do this teaching which is so vital to be a productive citizen of the Kingdom. Without further ado let’s go to our anchor Scripture.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Once again, I ask, do we really understand this, and have we received this as a command not as a nice suggestion or desirable issue? I think we have a ways to go otherwise we would all be flourishing in what we find in the Ministry of Jesus, Book of Acts, as well as Isaiah chapter sixty and sixty-one. Now, let’s move forward into our next passage to learn more about the Kingdom.
Matthew 13:33 (KJV)
33 Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
Let me remind us that Jesus said the Kingdom of God was within each of us (Luke 17:21) and the Apostle Paul elaborated saying that the Kingdom of God was righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17). Might we conclude that the Kingdom of God is our expression of righteousness, peace, and joy in partnership with or facilitated by the Holy Spirit. As a brief review, be reminded that righteousness is not only right standing with the Father which occurs at the point of salvation. Righteousness is also doing things God’s way. We are to conform to the will and nature of God, have right actions with right attitudes, functioning with a conformity of thought, words, and actions (integrity). Likewise, Bible peace is multi-factorial and not just a tranquil state of mind. Bible peace is a joining with Lord in His purposes, prosperity which by itself brings a quieting of the mind in many circumstances, it is the knowledge that the whole Kingdom the whole provision of God is ours, and that we are one with God Himself. And of course, the joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
The words kingdom, righteousness, peace, and joy are all feminine in gender. This means that when the Word of God is sown, they will increase spreading to and influencing others bringing increase to the Kingdom of God. For example, when we apply the Word of God to an action of righteousness it will reproduce. The same is true with peace and joy. These things are contagious, another way of saying it spreads or reproduces.
Now what about the leaven of Matthew 13:33? Anyone that has ever baked especially bread knows that it is the leaven or yeast that causes the loaf to increase in size and so it is in the Kingdom of God. The three measures of meal or loaf is our area of influence. What kind of leaven are we sowing in our area of influence or sphere of influence? Are we sowing wheat or tares. Are we speaking or sowing the seeds of Satan or the Seeds of God?
TAKE HOME:
- Let’s remind ourselves daily, perhaps many times a day to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.
- Let’s ask ourselves what kind of leaven I am sowing. Am I sowing a mixture of good and evil and getting chaos.
- Am I sowing righteousness, peace, and joy or something else?
As the Lord wills, I will resume right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
