IN CHURCH BUT NOT IN CHRIST

Greetings dear ones, sons and daughters of the only Living God, joint heirs with the Son our Savior Christ Jesus, and led by our Helper, our Teacher the Holy Spirit. How can one not be thankful all day long giving praise to the One and only God? Welcome back to this study of the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. This was the major theme of the Ministry of Jesus in the earth. Jesus was either demonstrating the Kingdom of God or teaching us how it worked. In reality so does the whole of Scripture. Let’s move to our anchor Scripture for our study, today in the NLT. Keep in mind that the New Living Translation (NLT) is a thought for thought translation or rendering of the manuscripts used.
Matthew 6:33 (NLT)
33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
As I have asked many times before, do we see this as a command, a command we received and with the help of the Holy Spirit doing? If we are not, it to the best of our revelation (light) knowledge then we must be careful not to complain about the conditions of our natural life. I will now resume where I left off last Sunday, then we will delve into the parable immediately preceding.
Matthew 21:42-43 (KJV)
42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
We discovered that the stone is Christ, and the builders are the religious leaders. Jesus the stone has become the Chief Cornerstone or Head of the foundation of the Church. The unbelieving Jews were broken off of the root and the Church grafted in. Any Jew may at any time, like us Gentiles, declare Jesus as Lord and re-enter the Kingdom of God. Now, let’s move to the parable.
Matthew 21:33-41 (KJV)
33 Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:
Note: The householder is the Father, the vineyard is the world, the husbandmen are the Jews.
34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.
35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.
Note: The servants are His Prophets.
37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.
38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.
39 And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.
Note: The Son is Christ Jesus.
40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?
41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
Note: Verse forty-one has played out to some extent from the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. and will culminate during the Great Tribulation (Zechariah 14:2).
TAKE HOME:
- As a husbandman are you doing your assigned part in the vineyard, the Kingdom of God, doing it His way. Will you have fruit to present to the Householder?
- Are you a builder of Truth or a builder of tradition, you own vineyard?
- Am I seeking the Kingdom of God and His righteousness above all else?
Lord willing, I will resume right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
