TREATING THE SERVANTS OF THE KINGDOM LIGHTLY OR WITH HOSTILITY BRINGS THE WRATH OF GOD

Greetings dear ones, sons and daughters of the only Living God, joint heirs with the Son our Savior Christ Jesus, and led by our Helper, our Teacher the Holy Spirit. How can one not be thankful all day long giving praise to the One and only God? Welcome back to this study of the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. This was the major theme of the Ministry of Jesus in the earth. Jesus was either demonstrating the Kingdom of God or teaching us how it worked. In reality so does the whole of Scripture. Let’s move to our anchor Scripture for our study, today in the NLT. Keep in mind that the New Living Translation (NLT) is a thought for thought translation or rendering of the manuscripts used.
Matthew 6:33 (NLT)
33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
As I have asked many times before, do we see this as a command, a command we received and with the help of the Holy Spirit doing? If we are not, it to the best of our revelation (light) knowledge then we must be careful not to complain about the conditions of our natural life. Moving now into the next teaching by the Master.
Matthew 22:2-7 (KJV)
2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
6 And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.
7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
Is the Father even now preparing a wedding feast for the wedding of His Son and bride? Is much of the world, peoples on the earth, all of whom are invited making light, treating His servants badly, and even killing some? Yes, it is present this very day. What about you and me. Are we treating the Word lightly and even making sport of His Ministers and killing some with our tongues. Will judgement come? Yes, and it has over time to many parts of the earth. How much longer will the Hand of mercy remain over America?
Some might conjecture or put forth that this part of the parable is speaking of the Jews. I would not go to war over that view, especially when we examine verses six and seven. This would certainly align with the killing of Jesus, and the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 A.D. We will pursue this parable further next Saturday.
TAKE HOME:
- Let us each one determine that as much as it is up to us and with the help of God we will be at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb (Son of God).
- Have we made light of some areas of Scripture, some servants of God, put our earthly pursuits first, treated certain Ministers spitefully, and even slew them with our tongues?
- Are we seeking the Kingdom of God above all else, living righteously, and receiving by faith and love all that is needed for this life?
