ARE WE LOVING GOD WITH OUR WHOLE BEING – SPIRIT – SOUL – AND BODY?

Greetings dear children of our Father God. What a privilege to be a child of God, a son of God, a joint heirs with Christ, a king and priest in the Kingdom of God.
TODAYS LIGHT:
- We must love, agapē/agapaō, the Lord with all of our heart, our soul, and our might, our whole being.
- We must know and understand that without faith it is impossible to please God.
- Faith is powered by love.
I will pick up again today with the first verse of 2nd John and continue our discussion of love, this is divine, Godly love – agapē/agapaō. Love can be in the noun for which can be referring to a person, place, thing, or idea. In our text to follow “love” is in the verb form indicating an action or actions. Given context it is actions or ideas acted upon based on Truth. We will get to discuss Truth soon. Now, to our main text.
2 John 1:1 (KJV)
1 The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth;
The Apostle of love, the Apostle John is writing to an unidentified Christian lady and her children. We speculated that this might be a sister-in-law and her children, and that the Apostle’s wife might be deceased. He tells her that he loves her according or “in the truth”. So, this is not a romantic letter but one of affection, encouragement, and instruction. Now, let’s again revisit what Jesus had to say about this divine love. I will intersperse my comments.
Matthew 22:36-40 (KJV)
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
My note: Jesus is most likely quoting the following verse.
Deuteronomy 6:5 (KJV)
5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
We are to love, agapē/agapaō, the Lord first of all with our whole being nothing before Him, nothing beside Him.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
My Note: We are to love, agapē/agapaō, others and ourselves in the same way we love God. We love others primarily by loving God, which is doing the Scripture, having a selfless mindset, and by walking in the Blood Covenant. We love ourselves by loving God.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
My Note: Last Friday I brought to our attention the word “all” in this fortieth verse. It seems to me this not only includes the 613 enumerated laws to regulate a righteous life but all of the spiritual law as well like sowing and reaping. Following these two commandments brings Heaven to earth, the will of God to our lives our domain. As sons of God, we do everything by faith.
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Remember, the power of faith is love, agapē/agapaō.
Galatians 5:6 (KJV)
6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
TAKE HOME LIGHT:
- We must love, agapē/agapaō, the Lord with all of our heart, our soul, and our might, our whole being.
- We must know and understand that without faith it is impossible to please God.
- Faith is powered by love.
