A WELL OF TRUTH
SO, WHAT ABOUT PROPHECY?

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to A Well of Truth. Today I am going to speak once again about prophecy. I recently, December 2021, published a short book on the topic and the front cover is the featured picture today. This book/booklet can be purchased on Amazon.com and can be located by searching by my name (Dr. David R. Wood). At the end of this teaching, you will see all six books I have published. Before I move forward, please share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you to expand our reach with the Truth.
I find that there is a great deal of bias concerning prophecy even in Pentecostal circles. In addition, I see tremendous confusion about the prophetic even among Pastors in Christian circles in general and Pentecostal circles in particular. Many do not believe in prophecy saying it has passed away. Some say they believe in Prophets and prophecy but are very skeptical calling into question if they do really believe. Some Churches never have a prophetic Word (I’m not talking about preaching/teaching), some heavily regulate or control prophecy both by the Prophet and those prompted by the Holy Spirit to exercise the gift. Some make it plain that the Lord is working in the Church service only through the one ministering, specifically the Pastor. Let’s give some thought and consideration to the following passage in light of what we see meeting to meeting in our own Churches.
1 Corinthians 14:26-33 (KJV)
26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
Is this a model for the regular Sunday service or some other time. Do we see this happening and how do we insure the orderly conduct of the service.
1 Corinthians 14:40 (KJV)
40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
If this is not happening in some setting how is the “perfecting” of the saints for ministry occurring?
Ephesians 4:11-12 (KJV)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
In recent times we have seen prophecy and prophets come into greater criticism because what was prophesied did not come to pass. For example, it was prophesied by many that President Trump would be reelected and serve two consecutive terms. This did not happen. One even said that not only would President Trump serve two consecutive terms but Vice-President Pence would follow for two consecutive terms and his vice-president after that. Interestingly, these same people remain popular and are deemed credible in certain circles. Now, with some prophesies that have not come to pass, we have to say, they have not come to pass yet. The example I gave about the election was for a specific point in time which has come and gone. Before I move forward let me put forward what I believe the Lord showed me concerning the election.
Isaiah 42:8 (KJV)
8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
Much of the Church, especially the evangelical community were looking to President Trump primarily and not to the Lord to do His will through President Trump. We must never attribute the work of God, the goodness (glory) of God to anyone other than God.

PRAYERS AND QUESTIONS – please contact us and we will respond. Our goal is to build a solid foundation upon which children of God can become sons of God, stand and do exploits in Jesus’ name.
PARTNERSHIP AND GIVING – Those of you who are not Partners of this Ministry and you find this ministry to be of value to you and perhaps others with whom you share it, we ask you to consider becoming Partners. A Partner is one who prays for the Ministry on a regular basis and contributes to the Ministry on a regular basis (monthly, quarterly, annually). Thank you and may the Lord be pleased with your decision.
