AFRAID AND FLEEING

Greetings precious brothers and sisters in Christ and welcome back to this dynamic and empowering Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. Before we move forward into today’s teaching, please remember to take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible to expand our reach with the good news, this empowering news. The beautiful featured picture today was taken along the coast of Maine.
I am going to speak just briefly again about worldview. How do I, how do you view the world? Is it through carnal eyes, or spiritual eyes? A few weeks ago, Donna and I were watching a Christian program and the host was interviewing George Barna. Part of what he was sharing had to do with the age by which our world view is formed and how many born again Christians have a Biblical world view. People form most of their worldview between the ages of 18 months and 13 years of age. Tell me if that does not highlight the importance of parents having a Biblical Worldview. Unfortunately, only one in ten born again Christians have a Biblical worldview. If that does not put the spotlight on a glaring failure by the Church, I don’t know what does. Could it be that there are no readily identifiable role models? Once saved why don’t people want to serve the Lord with a whole heart just like they did the devil? Unfortunately, it seems that nine in ten born again Christians have fire insurance (perhaps) but still serve the devil. Why are people not seeing the tremendous upside in the present time to wholeheartedly serving the Lord. Have we been taught that all the benefits are for the sweet bye and bye? Meditate upon the following.
2 Chronicles 16:9 (KJV)
9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
Is my heart completely (perfect toward) His, is yours?
Romans 12:2 (KJV)
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Am I, are you, daily making a conscious effort to displace the thoughts of the devil (world) with the thoughts of God? Are we talking like God or the devil? Are we acting like God or the devil? Why are nine out of ten Christians not making every effort every day to think like, talk like, and act like God? Is there no fear of the Lord, no honor of the holy things? Now, let’s turn our attention to the Book of Isaiah and continue reading out loud.
Isaiah 10:27-29 (KJV)
27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
28 He is come to Aiath, he is passed to Migron; at Michmash he hath laid up his carriages:
29 They are gone over the passage: they have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah is afraid; Gibeah of Saul is fled.
Yesterday was a little longer than usual and I discussed the word ‘anointing’ in verse twenty-seven. As you have noticed it is not capitalized yet we most often interpret this as referring to the Holy Spirit. The Anointing is not something separate from the Holy Spirit, He is the Holy Spirit. With what or Who was Jesus Anointed?
Acts 10:38 (KJV)
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
We decided yesterday that this was indeed the Holy Spirit and that there are benefits associated with Him. He, the Holy Spirit, is inseparable from His activity, His benefits. Now, to finish for today, let’s examine verses 28 and 29 in The Living Bible.
Isaiah 10:28-29 (TLB)
28 Look, the mighty armies of Assyria are coming! Now they are at Aiath, now at Migron; they are storing some of their equipment at Michmash
29 and crossing over the pass; they are staying overnight at Geba. Fear strikes the city of Ramah; all the people of Gibeah—the city of Saul—are running for their lives.
Are we, God’s people, fleeing from the swarms of demons we ourselves have loosed by disobedience and a failure to exercise authority?
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, doubt it not, and speak over yourself and your family in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
