ARMOR OF GOD – PART SEVENTY-TWO
THE SHIELD OF FAITH – PART FOUR
Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to our series entitled “Gifts” currently focused on the “Armor of God”. As you can see in the title, I have been dealing with the Armor of God for well over a year, seventy-two weeks counting today. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible to expand our reach with the best news anyone anywhere ever heard. Thank you so much for sharing, you are a vital part of this Ministry.
Once again today before I delve into our study let me again ask us all a vital question. What is more important to me, to you, than the Word, which is Jesus, the Logos of God, the Rhema of God, the very person of God? Perhaps all of us answered that no other person, no activity, no thing, was more important than Jesus, the persons of God. Let’s reflect upon that answer examining our thoughts, our words, our actions to see if we answered truthfully. Are we doing the following verse or just spouting off about it?
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text. This week, I will continue focusing on “the shield of faith”.
Ephesians 6:11-18 (KJV)
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. (Bold added)
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
I am still dealing with verse sixteen in our primary text above. Be reminded that the phrase “Above all” in verse sixteen can be translated as to rest upon, in all circumstances, or in every situation. Faith is never optional, we must at all times have our faith deployed whether in our defense or as an offensive weapon for the glory of God manifesting the Kingdom of God in the earth. Let me again reiterate that we deploy the shield of faith, our faith, by our will. Likewise, we are responsible for building our faith in different areas and in strength in each area. Always recall that faith comes by hearing the Anointed Word of God (Romans 10:17) and it is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6).
So, where do the fiery darts come from? They come from the wicked one and that is not God! These fiery darts are thoughts, ideas, from our enemies (spiritual) to burn, destroy, the thoughts of God. True faith in anything is being fully persuaded, unshakeable in our belief. In this case we are to be fully persuaded of the Word of God and no other words. The Words of God bring the Blessing, other words bring the curse. This is really very simple.
Deuteronomy 28:1-2 (KJV)
1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God. (Bold added)
Deuteronomy 28:14-15 (KJV)
14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: (Bold added)
So, what sounds best to you? Let’s take every necessary step to change our thinking, our words, and our actions to come into line with the Word of God. This will not happen without our effort, it will not happen overnight, and it will require changes. Some changes may be very significant to our old way of thinking not our new or Godly way of thinking. After all who do we want to think like? The devil or God?
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Friday moving into verse seventeen.

20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
