FRIDAY NUGGETS
FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT – PEACE – REST

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and those who are not yet saints. Become a saint today if you are not, simply repeat the following verse putting it in the first person and in your own hearing.
Romans 10:9 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Simply say out loud: I declare Jesus as Lord of my life and I believe in my heart that God has raised Him from the dead, I receive salvation, I am saved. Welcome to the Light, the Kingdom of God. Send us your testimony. As I move forward, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing.
Now, let’s move to our primary text for the study of the fruits of the spirit. Today I will be continuing our study of the fruit of peace. However much I have to say about peace there will be much left to be said. Please continue to read out loud.
Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
This week I will pick up with the fifth aspect of six aspects of the spiritual fruit of peace, a fruit of our spirit. Our peace is a duplicate albeit undeveloped of the Fathers’. From our primary text the Greek word transliterated to English as peace is eirēnē meaning (to join), prosperity, one, quietness, rest, and to be set at one again (with God) according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Last Friday I talked about quietness as a part of peace. Before Christ our spirit man was dead, our soul was renewed to the world system (the system of demons), and our bodies were not destined to be like that of our Savior. Now in Christ Jesus our spirit is alive and in the will of God able to bring forth supernatural fruit, we are renewing our minds by study of the Word, and our bodies are scheduled for a wonderful upgrade very soon. At this time let’s examine the rest aspect of peace.
Rest is an idea, a concept, a Truth we don’t hear a whole lot about but it originated in the Garden of Eden.
Genesis 2:1-3 (CJB)
1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, along with everything in them.
2 On the seventh day God was finished with his work which he had made, so he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3 God blessed the seventh day and separated it as holy; because on that day God rested from all his work which he had created, so that it itself could produce.
CJB is Complete Jewish Bible and I chose this translation to bring out the final phrase of verse three, “so that it itself could produce”. The rest of God is the provision of God. You notice that with the completion of the sixth day, the making of man, all was in place for all of creation, especially mankind. Everything including man was empowered, blessed, to prosper and produce happiness. Mankind, all of creation, was to be free of sweat and toil and man by the words of His mouth would rule the earth just as God had created and ruled the earth prior to the making of man and passing all authority (dominion) to man.
Genesis 1:26-28 (KJV)
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
We see here where man was given dominion (authority) over all on the earth and the blessing (empowerment) to prosper by the words of their mouth. Sweat and toil came with the curse, with sin.
Genesis 3:17-19 (KJV)
17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; (Bold added)
18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. (Bold added)
Lord willing, I will pick up with the rest of God, the rest we find in this fruit of peace next Friday.
