ARMOR OF GOD – PART SIXTY-ONE
BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS – PART TWO
Greetings precious brothers and sister in Christ Jesus and welcome back to the Friday teachings on Gifts from God. Currently we are dealing with the “Armor of God”. Before we move forward, please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible expanding our reach with the Word of God beyond our reach by ourselves. Thank you for sharing and I believe the Lord is pleased with your sharing. As you will recall I have built a firm foundation by the leadership of the Holy Spirit beneath our study for the seven elements of the ‘Whole Armor of God’. The bottom line is that we are to practice a life of holiness, of sanctification, setting ourselves apart for the Kingdom of God. Now, let’s turn our attention to our Bible text from the Book of Ephesians.
Ephesians 6:12-15 (KJV)
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
The next piece of armor that we will be discussing is “the breastplate of righteousness”. The use of the Roman soldier and their combat dress, equipment, has some usefulness but remember these are spiritual weapons for offense and defense. Glancing back at verse twelve we are reminded that we wrestle not, fight not, against flesh and blood but spiritual forces (evil principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places). We must have knowledge of the Kingdom and how it functions. This knowledge is revelation knowledge, Anointed Words, we receive, prove by the Word (rightly dividing), believe (have faith in), doubt not, and act upon as led of the Holy Spirit. Consider the following verse.
Hosea 4:6 (KJV)
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
The destruction that comes into our lives is not due to a lack of knowledge (a chronic problem) but our casting aside of His revelatory knowledge. Perhaps we believed it to be too hard, perhaps it didn’t agree with our Pastor, our denominational statement of faith, or grandma. There is one standard and one standard only by which we judge thoughts, words, and actions and that is by the Word of God. That will take effort, diligence on our part. The question is do we want to continue to be up to our necks in the curse due to our own laziness, or overflowing in the blessings of God for we have done our due diligence? Now let’s swing our attention back to the benefits of knowledge, revelatory Anointed knowledge of the laws of God.
2 Peter 1:1-4 (KJV)
1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
This passage makes it very clear (along with Hosea 4:6) what brings the Grace of God, the peace of God, the Power of God, with the provision of ALL things pertaining to this natural and our spiritual lives. Thru this knowledge, the exercise thereof, we step fully into our divine nature. Why? We have “escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust”. This closes the loop right back to a life wholly set apart to God, His thoughts, His Words, the absence of doubt, and being led of the Holy Spirit.
Lord willing the Holy Spirit will actually allow me to deal with the breastplate of righteousness.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
