Greetings and welcome to Part Four of this teaching series on “Knowledge of the Truth”. This series will focus on the Truth, Divine Truth, and the importance of increasing our knowledge day by day. As we move forward, I want to remind us of a statement I made yesterday. This type of knowledge is not just knowing or having information about a thing but must be acquired by active pursuit and practice of the knowledge. Epignosis sits over, is superior to, and is the very core of knowledge and it is a functional knowledge, producing fruitfulness and multiplication. Being successful in the Kingdom of God is really no different than gaining success in the natural world.
Several years ago, I wrote a booklet (38 pages in length) on this topic “Knowledge Of The Truth” which was distributed only to the partners of this Ministry at that time. As we go forward, I will be sharing that teaching for it is appropriate for all times. We will now review sobering but encouraging scene the Lord gave me to write and put with this teaching.
As the man came to stand before this light of exceeding brilliance there appeared to be the figure of another man in the midst of the light. In fact, this overwhelming but somehow comforting light was coming from the other man. The man’s eyes were starting to adjust to this bright yet irresistibly inviting light which remained overwhelming. He was encouraged and assisted to a place he was to stand at the base of many steps by large persons he understood to be angels. There was also a brilliance of light from and about them. These angels were at the same time imposing and firm, yet very gentle and comforting. They did not speak but the man could understand this was going to end well. Although filled with questions he was not afraid. These angels had been with the man from the very beginning of this astonishing journey. As he peered into this brilliant, yet warm light his mind saw intricately detailed flashes of a Roman cross. The words “lamb of God” thundered across his consciousness. The words of the ancient prophet to the Hebrews was at once words and reality; “it is appointed unto men once to die but after this the judgment:” (Hebrews 9:27) It exploded in his mind; I am at the judgment seat of Christ. Praise God, I am not going to hell!
2 Corinthians 5:10 (KJV)
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
His eyes were adjusting to the bright light and he also noticed there was a certain radiance that now was emanating from his own body. He immediately wondered is this like Jesus on Mount Transfiguration? A voice thundering like many waters filled his being, yet the voice was filled with gentleness, and comfort, and was very clear in his ears saying: “Yes, you are in the final stages of becoming like me, the risen Savior”. Soon the Father will send me for our brethren remaining in the earth, you and they will be changed in the twinkling of an eye, it will be done, and you will stand and work for eternity in my presence, in a glorified body like mine. Oh, the ecstasy that filled this man’s whole being as he realized, this is Jesus, and the One I have wanted to see seemingly forever. As his vision cleared, he could see Jesus, just the way John had described Him in the Revelation and more, what an overwhelming and astonishing thrill. Finally, I am home, I am face to face with the one I love the man exclaimed!
Suddenly, the whole life of the man from the time he had said yes to the Lord until now was before him. Jesus reviewed all things with him whether they were good or bad that he had done in the body. The bad were washed away in the final cleansing of the blood at the bema (Judgment Seat) of Christ. The Consuming Fire burned up the wood, hay, and stubble but the rest shined like pure gold and silver. Rank and rewards were awarded as the good was reviewed, all of which the man cast back at the feet of Jesus, as tears of overwhelming joy and gratitude filled his being. He also had fleeting feelings of regret at the places he had failed but that also washed away, and he was clean and shown like a brilliant light and was clothed in a wonderfully bright linen robe. Jesus made it all right. As the man sobbed at the feet of his Savior, he felt a warm and gentle hand first touch his shoulder then somehow just lift him to his feet. Jesus smiled into his face and said: ‘well done good and faithful servant”.
I have taken some liberties in the foregoing account however something akin to this awaits us all who have made Jesus Lord of our lives.
TAKE HOME:
- We all die.
- All we are saved will stand at the Judgement Seat of Christ.
- Will the knowledge of the Truth we acquired and acted upon make a difference?
Lord willing, I will resume right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
