Greetings and welcome to Part five of this teaching series on “Knowledge of the Truth”. This series will focus on the Truth, Divine Truth, and the importance of increasing our knowledge day by day. As we move forward, I want to remind us of a statement I made yesterday. This type of knowledge is not just knowing or having information about a thing but must be acquired by active pursuit and practice of the knowledge. Epignosis sits over, is superior to, and is the very core of knowledge and it is a functional knowledge, producing fruitfulness and multiplication. Being successful in the Kingdom of God is really no different than gaining success in the natural world.
You will recall that yesterday we left off with an account of a person we departed this life and found themselves at the Judgement Seat of Christ. What did or can we learn from that in the context of our study of “Knowledge Of The Truth”? The more knowledge of the Truth we have and act upon the less our regrets, the greater is our reward and rank for we excelled for the Kingdom of God. There is no greater calling or accomplishment. Now back to our study.
Thinking back on yesterday’s lesson, my question is this; can we reduce or even eliminate the bad things done in this body, the regrets? Not those already in the books (literally) but in the future. The bad things are our every disobedience to the Word of God. We can be outside the will and plan of God for our lives due to ignorance or due to disobediences on purpose. God has commanded us to study (2 Timothy 2:15), to know His Word and to do His Word; for knowledge and obedience are intimate with the manifestation of God in our lives (John 14:21).
Somehow, we have wrongly thought that the will of God would just unfold in our lives, and we would just dance merrily along doing as we did before salvation but now with a Christian flare. Not so my dear brother and sister, and by now the experiences of your own life must have made this self-evident. Knowledge of the Truth which is my topic in this teaching is integral to pleasing the Lord and walking in His wonderful plan (Jeremiah 29:11), experiencing the blessing of Abraham (Galatians 3:13-14), and being a partaker of the promise of the Father (Luke 24:29). The Scripture tells us that we can see God and the plan of God in the natural or physical things.
Romans 1:20 (KJV)
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Education is fundamental to success in the natural world system and is fundamental to success in the Kingdom of God. Just where do you think the Devil got the idea? Let us start with the most fundamental and essential call we all get to start our wonderfully blessed journey with Jesus and the Father. We were created to be His sons, and daughters. He longs for us, and He is wooing us all. He is wooing us to salvation first then to take our places as sons, priests, and kings in His kingdom.
1 Timothy 2:4 (KJV)
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
We are all called to salvation. Some will accept the wonderful gift of salvation, while others will reject this most wondrous call to receive the gift of eternal life. Those persons among us who are unborn or have not attained the age of accountability at the time of their death go swiftly into the arms of Jesus. God is a God of justice, a God of mercy, and a God who demonstrates His goodness all the time. On the other hand, those of us who have attained the age of understanding are not innocent and are without excuse (Romans 1:20).
To be saved or to receive salvation means to be made whole. When God makes you whole you are whole. It is not like a legal case where they make you whole in a certain area which is never really whole. When God, the Father, makes you whole you are whole spirit, soul, and body. There is one caveat. When we said, “yes Lord” and accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior only our spirit man was immediately quickened, made alive, by the Holy Spirit. On the other hand, our mind, will, and emotions (soul) were unchanged, and our bodies were unchanged as well. Sinful flesh was taken out of the way at Calvary, the veil torn, and we are made righteous and the Holy Spirit comes to live in us. Our soul man is charged by renewing our minds (Romans 12:2) with the Word of God. We are to discipline our minds, will, and emotions with the Word of God. We maintain health and healing in our bodies by speaking the Word of God (Proverbs 4:20-27).
Notice in the first Timothy passage that it is not only the will of God for all men (persons) to come to salvation, but it is the will of God that all men also come to the knowledge of the truth. The Fathers perfect will is salvation but the choice is yours. He has set before us death and life and He even gives us the correct answer, the Father says; “chose life” (Deuteronomy 30:19). He has given us freewill in every aspect of our lives. God is not in control, He will not make us, and the devils cannot prevent you, you chose.
1st Timothy 2:4 is split into two statements connected by a conjunctive, the word “and”. The conjunctive “and” gives both statements equal weight and the second adds to the first. In this case we can see that it is possible to be saved but not come to the knowledge of the truth. This is not the will of God, but we can chose to continuously be a child of God on the salvation level of knowledge. His perfect will is for us to push into the knowledge of the truth. As we do, we become more like Him, productive sons of the Kingdom. So, what about this knowledge of the truth? Continued tomorrow!
TAKE HOME:
- The will of God is for all persons to be saved.
- It is also His will that all come to a knowledge of the Truth.
- Prosperity and success in this life and in the Kingdom of God is directly related to a knowledge of the Truth implemented.
Lord willing, I will resume right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
