Greetings dear and precious saints of God, those walking in love and faith. Welcome back to this engaging and challenging study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much. The featured picture today is provided by Joe Getchell Jr a faithful man of God who takes wonderful pictures. I favor ducks so here are ducks again. Before we dive into the Book of Isaiah, let’s consider the following.
1 Kings 18:21 (KJV)
21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.
Have you, have I ever halted or vacillated (dithered) between opinions? Of course, we have, but we should not, God has the right opinion, Truth, and it is available to all that are born again. I wanted to bring out the Biblical numerology for our consideration and amazement. 1 Kings is the 11th Book of the Old Testament. The number 11 in Scripture can mean alignment with God or judgment and disorder. Certainly in 1st Kings there is plenty of disorder and judgment interspersed with alignment with God. A dithering between two. Eighteen is the number of bondage. God’s people suffered much bondage in this book in large part because they halted between two opinions. The number 21 is exceeding sin. It is evil to halt (undecided) between God and Satan. These people at this very time were halting, dithering, between Baal and God. What about today? It is a partaking of the tree of good and evil. How did that turn out?
Now, let’s pick up with our study of Isaiah, turning to our primary text continuing to read out loud. Yes, out loud, you know why.
Isaiah 52:13-15 (ESV)
13 Behold, my servant shall act wisely; he shall be high and lifted up, and shall be exalted.
14 As many were astonished at you— his appearance was so marred, beyond human semblance, and his form beyond that of the children of mankind—
15 so shall he sprinkle many nations; kings shall shut their mouths because of him; for that which has not been told them they see, and that which they have not heard they understand.
As we read our primary Bible text from the English Standard Version, we see more clearly that Messianic language is coming to the forefront. As we proceed into the next chapter it will be very obvious and very encouraging. As we study the text of the 13th verse one has to wonder about the timing and if Jesus to come is the only one being talked about. It does not seem that this is describing Jesus in His earthly Ministry but following the Cross. Let’s look at this verse in the Amplified Bible.
Isaiah 52:13 (AMP)
13 Behold, My Servant shall deal wisely and shall prosper; He shall be exalted and extolled and shall stand very high.
I really don’t like to use the word “prosper” in front of religious devils, but there it is. One might say; “O Dr. Wood that is talking about prospering spiritually, laying up treasure in Heaven.” Really? What does spiritual prosperity look like? What does treasure in Heaven look like? Our physical condition is a direct reflection of our spiritual condition. We see that following the Cross that Jesus is indeed “exalted and extolled” very high.
Ephesians 1:20 (KJV)
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
What about His children, brethren of Jesus, who serve the Kingdom of God?
Ephesians 2:6 (KJV)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember God is love, He is good, and He cannot lie.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
