Greetings dear and precious saints purchased by the incalculable Precious Blood of Jesus. Welcome back to our enlightening study of the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. I am puzzled by those of you who follow these teachings regularly yet don’t share?? If you’re just skating by and wondering who David Wood is don’t worry about it (don’t worry period). The picture today is of Donna and me at Church. And yes, I’m working on the belly. Also, never forget to pray for Israel, it is a command of our God (Psalm 122:6-9) not a holy suggestion.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful Book of Isaiah and continue reading our loud. Yes, out loud, you know why.
Isaiah 52:1-5 (NLT)
1 Wake up, wake up, O Zion! Clothe yourself with strength.
Put on your beautiful clothes, O holy city of Jerusalem, for unclean and godless people will enter your gates no longer.
2 Rise from the dust, O Jerusalem. Sit in a place of honor.
Remove the chains of slavery from your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
3 For this is what the LORD says: “When I sold you into exile,
I received no payment. Now I can redeem you without having to pay for you.”
4 This is what the Sovereign LORD says: “Long ago my people chose to live in Egypt. Now they are oppressed by Assyria.
5 What is this?” asks the LORD. “Why are my people enslaved again? Those who rule them shout in exultation. My name is blasphemed all day long.
As we continue in the first verse of our text, we find out the benefit of awakening, clothing ourselves with strength, and putting on, exhibiting, glory and honor. The glory of God in their lives and ours is the manifested goodness of God for all to see. God tells them that putting Him first will keep them and their beloved city of Jerusalem safe and free of sinners. By extension we can see this same benefit for a nation. Might the Lord be saying this to this nation at this very time? How does the following verse vary from Isaiah 52:1?
2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Just as in the first verse of our primary text so we have a major part to play in the healing of our land. Have we the American Church awakened to our sin and repented. No, not even close. The primary sins are always faithlessness and pride.
Revelation 3:17-18 (KJV)
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
Do you see that the message from the Throne does not change, from Isaiah 52:1, 2 Chronicles 7:14, and Revelation 3:17-18. Consider the following verses.
2 Timothy 3:4-5 (KJV)
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Where is the Power of God in our Churches and in our personal lives. Some Churches outright deny the Power of God at work in our lives while others have what is accepted as a religious setting but there is no power. We hear a lot of proclamations of a wonderful service but no reports of the lame leaping, demons departing, the blind seeing, the deaf hearing, or the maimed being made whole. What are they talking about, “a form of godliness”?
Back to our text for just a brief moment and the statement; “for unclean and godless people will enter your gates no longer”. This of course can be pointing a distant time when the New Jerusalem comes down out of heaven into the earth. I do not see this as saying there will be no unbelievers in ancient or modern Jerusalem but I do see it as being dominated and influenced by righteousness in every aspect. This must be true of our individual lives as well as our nation, a return to our Judeo-Christian Heritage with the Word of God guiding all life.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. Remember we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
