Greetings dear and precious saints purchased by the incalculable Precious Blood of Jesus. Welcome back to our enlightening study of the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. I am puzzled by those of you who follow these teachings regularly yet don’t share?? If you’re just skating by and wondering who David Wood is don’t worry about it (don’t worry period). The picture today is of seven ancient pillars to remind us all to pray for the seven pillars of society. Also, never forget to pray for Israel, it is a command of our God (Psalm 122:6-9) not a holy suggestion.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful Book of Isaiah and continue reading our loud. Yes, out loud, you know why.
Isaiah 52:1-5 (NLT)
1 Wake up, wake up, O Zion! Clothe yourself with strength.
Put on your beautiful clothes, O holy city of Jerusalem, for unclean and godless people will enter your gates no longer.
2 Rise from the dust, O Jerusalem. Sit in a place of honor.
Remove the chains of slavery from your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
3 For this is what the LORD says: “When I sold you into exile,
I received no payment. Now I can redeem you without having to pay for you.”
4 This is what the Sovereign LORD says: “Long ago my people chose to live in Egypt. Now they are oppressed by Assyria.
5 What is this?” asks the LORD. “Why are my people enslaved again? Those who rule them shout in exultation.My name is blasphemed all day long.
As we move ahead, I want to take just a moment to deal with “Zion” in that first verse. In this passage its primary meaning is the physical city of Jerusalem in Israel. However, it is also symbolic of the Church. The Hebrew word transliterated to English is ṣiyyôn meaning conspicuous, militant, triumphant Church according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Later in the same verse we find the word “Jerusalem” and one might wonder why talk about perhaps the same city with two different words separated by one sentence. Well, this word transliterated from Hebrew to English is yerûshālaim according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Notice that the “im” ending of the word tells us it is pleural, at least two. This is talking of Jerusalem above in Heaven and Jerusalem in the earth. Both are to be cities of righteousness and peace. Yet another way to think about this word Jerusalem, the word can be pointing to two main hills according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Could this be Judaism and the Church? I am in no way insinuating that the Jews have a way of salvation since the coming and resurrection of Messiah other than Jesus.
Again, in verse two the Lord commands His people to shake off the dust, arise from their low position and sit in a seat of honor. In their case from bondage to the Assyrians to freedom as a sovereign nation. Did you notice the phrase “Remove the chains of slavery from your neck, O captive daughter”? Who is removing the chains? The one captive not God. Most of the Church does not believe this. They sing about and talk about God removing the bondage, moving the mountain completely leaving out their critical part in the process. So how do they come out of slavery? By repentance, just like the Church in America. Repentance is a complete change of direction, 180 degrees. Jerusalem is the chosen place for God’s people to live yet in disobedience they are living elsewhere in bondage, in chains. How many Christians are living in bondage, in chains, following after a form of godliness (sounds right, sounds like the Truth) but it is not the Truth. God has a wonderful path for us, we are to live in the seventh day, in His provision, a Kingdom of God life, yes here in the earth.

29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s,
30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
Is this Bible? If you answered yes then step into it by faith, in love, led of the Holy Spirit.
