TO WHAT CAN WE COMPARE THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Greetings dear saints of God and others. Welcome to this ongoing Bible Study of the Kingdom of God. Our anchor text commands us to seek the Kingdom first so it must have our attention. As I was thinking about this topic and what would be next it came to me that I should, we should, be putting our anchor Scripture together with the following Scripture.
Matthew 6:9-10 (ESV)
9 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Jesus told us (Luke 17:21) that the Kingdom of God was not a place like other kingdoms in the earth, but it was found within us. It is spiritual. The Apostle Paul gave further clarity saying the Kingdom of God was righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17). The Kingdom of God is to be resident within us and manifest through us. These attributes are part and parcel of God the Holy Spirit and we in His image and likeness are to manifest by our will. We chose to be right with God, and we choose to do right. We choose by knowledge to walk in the six aspects of Divine peace, and we choose by knowledge to walk in the joy of the Lord which is a calm delight. The six aspects of Divine peace are being joined with Him in purpose, to walk in prosperity of every type, to be a unified whole spirit, soul, and body, quietness in all circumstances, access to all of God’s provision, and being one with Him. The Holy Spirit will energize (help) any area in which we come short as we stretch ourselves. With these Truth’s in mind let’s move into the anchor Scripture or text we have been using for this study.
Matthew 6:33 (ESV)
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Recalling that the Kingdom of God is within and is within the Holy Spirit Who is within us we look to Him not only to remain in right standing but remain in right doing. The Holy Spirit is our Helper and our Teacher. When people look at our lives they are to see the Kingdom of God in action upon the earth through us. Our lives are not to mirror the world but fully aligned with Scripture with all aspects of peace on display and a joy of the Lord in all circumstances that threaten. Before I move into our next Scripture in Luke thirteen let me point out that in the Romans 14:17 text that righteousness, peace, and joy are all feminine in gender and singular. Singular in that we exercise these by choice individually. More importantly when we chose to exercise right doing, any aspect of peace, and chose joy sprinkled with the Word of God it will reproduce or multiply.
Luke 13:18-19 (ESV)
18 He said therefore, “What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it?
19 It is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his garden, and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches.”
Jesus tells us to sow the Kingdom of God. We have looked at other passages where He says to preach the Kingdom of God. We preach about righteousness, peace, and joy. As people hear this and enter the Kingdom, they see a Covenant right to healings of all kinds (physical and financial). Sowing these seeds of righteousness, peace, and joy will make a place for others to take shelter until they become that full grown tree that is a shelter for others.
TAKE HOME:
- Do we believe that things can be in our lives right now as they are in Heaven?
- Does doing things God’s way really produce days of Heaven upon the earth?
- What are we sowing, is it righteousness, peace and joy or something else?
Lord willing, I will resume right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
