THE TRIUMPHANT ENTRY

Greetings dear saints and welcome back to the teachings on The Kingdom of God and His righteousness. This was the main theme of Jesus’ Ministry and thus must be a main theme of our Ministry in the earth in His stead. Jesus was either teaching how the Kingdom of God worked or demonstrating how it worked. Now let’s jump into our anchor text and then on to the next teaching from the Master.
Matthew 6:31-33 (NKJV)
31 Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Again, we must see this as a promise and a command. The Scripture is full of commands coupled with promises. Obedience brings the promise; disobedience brings the curse. We see here the Truth I speak of frequently that all physical manifestations in this material world originate in the spirit realm be it good or bad. The laws of the spirit realm or 4th dimension regulate, control, and contain the physical or 3rd dimension. The next teaching about the Kingdom of God we are launching into is today called the” Triumphant Entry” and we find the type and shadow or prophetic act in the Passover. First let’s look at our text in Mark chapter eleven.
Mark 11:9-11 (NKJV)
9 Then those who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’
10 Blessed is the kingdom of our father David That comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”
11 And Jesus went into Jerusalem and into the temple. So when He had looked around at all things, as the hour was already late, He went out to Bethany with the twelve.
These people who received Jesus that day into Jerusalem as well as the twelve were looking for an earthly kingdom that Jesus would establish and displace the Romans. He was about to establish a spiritual kingdom on the earth and then an earthly kingdom would follow. You and I are a part of that spiritual Kingdom if you are born again. This Kingdom has many outward signs including wealth without sorrow, health, and many other physical manifestations. The earthly kingdom is still future, and we refer to it as the millennial reign of Christ.
Perhaps you have noticed the people were shouting “Hosanna” which means save now, help now, or save we pray thee according to The Complete Word Study Dictionary – New Testament. They also refer to the earthly kingdom of King David. It seems they hope at least that Jesus being of the tribe of Judah and being a descendant of King David would reestablish the kingdom. This occurs on the 10th of Nisan which is when the Passover Lamb was chosen in Exodus chapter twelve. Like that lambs of old, Jesus, the Lamb of God will be in and out of Jerusalem, inspected by all for five days. Then He will be killed five days later on the 14th of Nisan to take away the sins of the world. Like the first recorded Passover lamb in Exodus twelve Jesus was a first-born male without blemish. It is well worth your time to meditatively read the first fourteen verses of Exodus chapter twelve.
TAKE HOME:
- The Scripture is full of commands coupled with promises. Obedience brings the promise; disobedience brings the curse.
- The people of that day were looking for Jesus to establish an earthly kingdom freeing them from the Romans and taking His place on the Throne of David his father. That was not to be, a spiritual kingdom was coming very soon (8 days) then in a few days (2000 years) an earthly kingdom.
- Jesus is the Lamb of God who took away the sins of the world. He is our Passover, the last Passover Lamb, the eternal sacrifice, the eternal Blood.
