CAMELS, NEEDLES, RICH PEOPLE, KINGDOM OF GOD

Greetings dear saints and welcome back to the teachings on The Kingdom of God and His righteousness. This was the main theme of Jesus’ Ministry and thus must be a main theme of our Ministry in the earth in His stead. Jesus was either teaching how the Kingdom of God worked or demonstrating how it worked. Now let’s jump into our anchor text and then on to the next teaching from the Master.
Matthew 6:31-33 (NKJV)
31 Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
We see here the Truth I speak of frequently that all physical manifestations in this material world originate in the spirit realm be it good or bad. The laws of the spirit realm or 4th dimension regulate, control, and contain the physical or 3rd dimension. As we move forward you will recognize this account is Jesus’ encounter with what is commonly referred to as the rich young ruler.
Mark 10:17-22 (NKJV)
17 Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?”
18 So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.
19 You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ “
20 And he answered and said to Him, “Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth.”
21 Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.”
22 But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
This man wanted to obtain eternal life but turns out he wanted to obtain eternal life much like possessing another asset in his portfolio. He was not ready to make the Kingdom of God and God’s way of doing things his primary aim. This was to be an add on not the focus of his life. That is not to say he could not conduct business and be exceedingly rich given he had the right focus. Jesus located his heart, his motivations immediately.
Mark 10:23-27 (NKJV)
23 Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!”
24 And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God!
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
26 And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, “Who then can be saved?”
27 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”
I have heard various interpretations more like speculations about the reference to a camel going through the eye of a needle. I suggest we go with what Jesus said in verse twenty-seven. It seems to me that it is impossible for people rich or poor on their own to enter the Kingdom of God, they both need God, they need Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Rich people tend to be focused and dependent upon their money and themselves and less willing to submit to God. But when they submit to God all things are possible. I’m with Jesus. It is not hard for rich people to enter Heaven because God hates wealth, it is the focus of the people. The people are trusting in their money, they capacity to make money and not God. As I end this teaching, I want to bring two Scriptures to mind. In the Jeremiah reference below notice a cursed persons focus, and trust is in man. This is the “rich young ruler”. What about you and me?
Jeremiah 17:5-8 (NKJV)
5 Thus says the LORD: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the LORD.
6 For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited.
7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD.
8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
In the following Scripture the focus is verse six.
Romans 8:5-7 (NKJV)
5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.
To be carnally minded is to be carnally focused and to be spiritually minded is life and peace. All of this simply amplifies our text of Matthew 6:33.
TAKE HOME:
- All physical manifestations in this material world originate in the spirit realm be it good or bad. The laws of the spirit realm or 4th dimension regulate, control, and contain the physical or 3rd dimension.
- The “rich young ruler” wanted to obtain eternal life but turns out he wanted to obtain eternal life much like possessing another asset in his portfolio.
- I have heard various interpretations more like speculations about the reference to a camel going through the eye of a needle. I suggest we go with what Jesus said in verse twenty-seven. Mark 10:27 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”
Lord willing, I will resume right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
