PEOPLE ABOUT THE BUSINESS OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Greetings to all in the Kingdom of God and those who are entering. The Lord is so good. We are picking up once again today with our study of the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. This was a major theme of Jesus’ earthly Ministry and thus we must follow suite. We are commanded to do as Jesus did and even greater things for, He is gone on to Heaven (John 14:12). Jesus taught and demonstrated the laws of the Kingdom of God and the Fathers’ ways, and we are to do likewise. Now, let’s go to our text Scripture and dive into today’s teaching.
Matthew 6:31-33 (NIV)
31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
I have asked over and over, do we see this as a command that we are pursuing with all of our being? It seems that all too many times we look at a Scripture and perhaps say something like oh that is so good but then we walk away soon forgetting what we just saw. Then perhaps we wonder why we are in the same place spiritually and materially year after year. Today I am continuing with the parable of the sower for it uncovers vital Truths of the Kingdom of God. You will find yourself in one of the groups Jesus taught. I will intersperse comments as we work down through this passage of Scripture.
Mark 4:14-20 (KJV)
14 The sower soweth the word.
All of us in the Kingdom of God are sowers of the Word of God, or at least we are supposed too. This does not mean that you have a platform ministry or are a part of the Five-Fold Ministry. The thoughts of our mind and the words of our mouth are to conform to the Word of God. This is an all-day job dear ones. The key question is what do the hearers do with these Words of God. This brings us to group one of four that Jesus mentions.
15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
My Note: These people in group one appear to be incidental hearers but still they heard. They received the Word of God into their minds, their thoughts. Immediately Satan comes with contrary thoughts or words. They had a choice; they chose to let those Words of God be stolen. They did not honor the Words.
16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.
My Note: This second group heard the Word of God and received it with gladness, but they spent no time meditating the Word and had no root, they did not water the Word. When they were challenged concerning the Word they let it go because they were offended. You might even find these people in the amen hallelujah row at your Church. Their ground, heart, was not prepared.
18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
My Note: This third are a little more established than group two, but they are distracted, lose focus, the Word is choked for lack of watering, meditating, and they remain unfruitful. Talk a good talk but no fruit. Are you seeing the importance of Matthew 6:33?
20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
My Note: This group is the group we must all aspire to; it is obtained by doing Matthew 6:33 with our whole heart. We are not wayside people; we are not people who spend little to no time in the Word meditating making our own. Also, we are not people who allow ourselves to be distracted from our assignments in the Kingdom of God. We are people about the business of the Kingdom of God, meditating the Word, becoming more like Christ producing good fruit.
TAKE HOME:
- Are you mindful to be a sower of the Word of God. That does not mean we go around quoting Scripture although there are times for this, but our conversation is in line with the Word of God.
- Remember, you are not responsible for what the hearer does with the Word of God you have sown.
- Is your heart good ground? Do you receive the Word with gladness, believe it and implement it into your life bringing forth good fruit. Remember we are known by our fruit.
Lord willing, I will resume right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
