Greetings and welcome back to Awake, Arise, and Triumph Ministries and our study of The Kingdom of God. The core and the lion’s share (common theme) of the Masters’ Ministry in the earth centers around the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Jesus either was teaching the laws, ways, of the Kingdom or demonstrating the laws, ways, of the Kingdom. Jesus’ teaching for the most part emphasized the laws of prosperity and/or health thus the new image for these teachings.
TODAY’S LIGHT:
- All of the activities of our lives are to reflect the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. That is to say His goodness reflected in Kingdom living for his children.
- The Scripture calls those who did not have oil to replenish their lamps morons.
- Being sober and vigilant is a day-to-day activity. We must be in the Word and open before God to obey the Word, keep our motives His, and walk in Blood Covenant.
Now, let’s go to our anchor Scripture for this study.
Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
As I have asked many times before, do we see this as a command? If not, why not? Unfortunately, it seems to me that many who claim Jesus as Savior Kingdom of God activities are an add on, not the main show. That is not to say we are not about the business of life, but all is as unto the Lord as part of Kingdom activity. Your job, business, family life and so on is to honor God and show His goodness through you. The following lengthy passage is a continuation of the disciples question in the preceding chapter.
Matthew 24:3-4 (NIV)
3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.
Now, to the continuing answer.
Matthew 25:1-13 (NIV)
1 “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
My note: At what time? At the time of His coming. The coming is twofold, one is the Rapture (Catching Away) of the Church, then there is the Second Coming which is the time the Jews will receive Him as Messiah.
2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise.
3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them.
My note: The Greek word translated to English as foolish appears to be the same word giving rise to the word moron. According to The Complete Word Study Dictionary – New Testament this Greek word means silly, stupid, foolish, and the English word “moron” is derived.
4 The wise, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps.
My Note: Here is another passage of Scripture that should cause us all to pause. Am I a wise or foolish virgin, Christian, part of the bride of Christ? All ten are virgins (Christians) and all ten had oil at the onset. Five maintained and prepared for the future, five did not. The Oil, Anointing, we got at the beginning will not sustain us to the end. There must be constant refilling. Reminds me of the love of many becoming cold. Matthew 24:12 (KJV) And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Remember, love ((agapē/agapaō) is obedience to the Word, a selfless lifestyle, and walking in Blood Covenant.
5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
6 “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’
7 “Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps.
8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’
9 “’No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’
10 “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.
11 “Later the others also came. ‘Sir! Sir!’ they said. ‘Open the door for us!’
12 “But he replied, ‘I tell you the truth, I don’t know you.’
My note: What an awful thing to hear. Let us be vigilant. 1 Peter 5:8 (KJV) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.
TODAY’S TAKE HOME:
- All of the activities of our lives are to reflect the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. That is to say His goodness reflected in Kingdom living for his children.
- The Scripture calls those who did not have oil to replenish their lamps morons.
- Being sober and vigilant is a day-to-day activity. We must be in the Word and open before God to obey the Word, keep our motives His, and walk in Blood Covenant.
Lord willing, I will resume right here next Saturday, tomorrow is the start of the Feast of Pentecost. Regarding Pentecost, which ditch are you in? Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
