THE GENTILES SHALL SEE
Video link: https://youtu.be/AhBX-wk52lQ
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and welcome back to our study of this phenomenal Bible Book of Isaiah. Of course, all of Scripture is phenomenal for its Words are Anointed and have Life. When planted in good soil these Words will bring forth 30, 60, and 100-fold in our lives. This is Christmas Eve so Donna and I wish all a very Merry Christmas! The featured picture is of the State House in Tallahassee Florida. This is featured to remind us of the importance to pray for all in governmental authority, it is imperative, but praying alone is insufficient. Now, let’s delve (investigate, research, probe, dig) into our primary Bible text from this Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 62:1-5 (NKJV)
1 For Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace, And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, Until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, And her salvation as a lamp that burns.
2 The Gentiles shall see your righteousness, And all kings your glory. You shall be called by a new name, Which the mouth of the LORD will name.
3 You shall also be a crown of glory In the hand of the LORD, And a royal diadem In the hand of your God.
4 You shall no longer be termed Forsaken, Nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate; But you shall be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; For the LORD delights in you, And your land shall be married.
5 For as a young man marries a virgin, So shall your sons marry you; And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, So shall your God rejoice over you.
Yesterday I left off talking about all of the light being discussed in this very first verse referring to the Christ, Jesus. The Apostle John testifies of this as well by the unction of the Holy Spirit.
John 1:1-5 (NKJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
As we move into verse two of our primary Bible text, we see that we the Gentiles will see this righteousness and not only be drawn to it but have full access to it in and through Christ Jesus. Notice that God, the Father, is talking to Jesus, the Son, through the Prophet Isaiah. Remember this all started when God approached Abram to make Blood Covenant that would bring the redeemer into the earth for all peoples, the Jew first then the Gentiles.
Genesis 12:1-3 (NKJV)
1 Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.
2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Notice that due to obedience, the faith of Abram, later Abraham, all families of the earth would be blessed, that includes you and me dear ones. No Abraham, no Jesus, no salvation. Remember when God tested the Covenant and told Abraham to take his son Isaac to Mount Moriah and sacrifice him there. This passage follows that event and the sacrifice of the scapegoat in Isaacs stead.
Genesis 22:15-18 (NKJV)
15 Then the Angel of the LORD called to Abraham a second time out of heaven,
16 and said: “By Myself I have sworn, says the LORD, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son–
17 blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.
18 In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”
Lord willing, I will pick up with our study of Isaiah next week, tomorrow I have a short teaching on Christmas and then the Feast of Dedication. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
