1 JOHN – CHAPTER TWO VERSE TWENTY-TWO

Greetings precious children of the Father, joint heirs of all creation, natural and spiritual, and my brothers and sisters in Christ. Welcome back to the Book of love written by the one I have been calling the Apostle of love. I will be picking up with the twentieth verse of the second chapter and see how far the Lord takes us. Be sure you are reading out loud.
1 John 2:20-23 (NKJV)
20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.
21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
22 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.
23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
We are picking up with verse twenty-two today. Let’s take a look at the word “liar” and get a better understanding as to who the Apostle John is talking about. According to The Complete Word Study Dictionary – New Testament the word translated from Greek to English means a liar, one false toward God, a wicked person, of those who profess salvation but live and think contrary to Christian truth. Wow, we know these people.
There are those who outright deny Jesus as Christ but among us there are those who profess salvation but are not thinking, therefore not speaking and living according to the Word. To these we must be a witness of the Truth but have no fellowship. There are many but two groups of people I think all of us are aware of that deny Jesus is the Christ are the Jews and Muslims. Then of course there are multiplied millions perhaps a few billion who do not believe in God nor His Son. Here the Apostle again speaks of the antichrist, which is really a self-explanatory term. This word antichrist means to be against or not believing that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah.
John goes on in the twenty-third verse to tell us that denying the Son, that Jesus is the Christ, is to deny the Father as well. One cannot have the Father without the Son. Jesus told us that the only way to the Father was through the Son. This was true even in the Old Covenant. Where did the saints of old go to await the advent of Jesus? Paradise, the Bosom of Abraham.
John 14:6-7 (KJV)
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
Just a few verses later Jesus gives us a little more clarity.
John 14:19-21 (KJV)
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
We are one with Jesus and the Father and they with us. Do we really comprehend the full Truth of this?
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Friday. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
