Greetings precious saints of God, my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, sons of God and welcome back to this uplifting study of 1st John. John the Apostle of love by the unction of the Holy Spirit left us with some wonderful Scripture for our instruction and edification. The Lord is so good. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text for today continuing to read out loud and listening with the intent to understand and do. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your spiritual eyes and ears.
1 John 3:1-3 (KJV)
1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
We have been talking about the love (agapē/agapaō) of God and the wonderful Truth that that very same love is in us. That love in us grows with exercise, as we walk in love. Walking in love means that we are doing all of His commandments, we have selfless motivations, and we walk in the full knowledge of Blood Covenant. Love is the fundamental essential tree within us. We cannot please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6) and faith works, gets its power from love (Galatians 5:6). Our faith can only be as strong as our love. If our faith isn’t bringing the desired results according to Scripture then an examination of our love walk is warranted. All the promises of God are yes in Him and amen in Him to show the goodness of our God through us.
2 Corinthians 1:20 (KJV)
20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
How is the world to know how good our God is if they can’t see it in our lives? The final great harvest will come with repentance in the Church for unbelief, following after the traditions of men, and believing and acting upon the doctrine of demons. Then and only then can we arise and shine and be that light on a hill for the world and the unbelieving Church.
Isaiah 60:1-3 (KJV)
1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
Finishing with verse one, the world did not understand Jesus and they will not understand us. That is not to say they will not come to the light (revealed Word) because they see a far more successful way of living. This is far more than a smiley face as we grind out life, but a smiley face with victory over the challenges the enemy brings bearing fruit in our finances, in our bodies, and every other arena of life. They will know us by our fruit.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Friday. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
