KINGDOM OF GOD – PART FIVE
IS THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS OUR CHIEF AIM?

Greetings precious saints of God and others and welcome back to this wonderful Bible Study of the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of Heaven as we see in the Book of Matthew is synonymous with the term Kingdom of God. This term comes up 163 times in the New Testament, 55 times in Matthew alone. This was a huge part of the teachings of Jesus, even looking like the main focus. With that in mind, that is we want to know what Jesus taught and thought was important, let’s move to our anchor Scripture spoken by the Master Himself.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
I think most Christians have at least heard or read this Scripture and many may even be able to quote it. The question is this. How many of us have really understood the Scripture and given it place in our thinking? By understanding I mean having revelation, light, and then implementing as the command that it is. This command is directed at all people not just a select group like the preachers.
Last Sunday I left off examining God’s original intent for the Kingdom of God. Remember, a kingdom is that which is under the domain or dominion (authority) of the king, in this case Jesus and His Father. Dominion or authority is not control. Anyone who has been a boss or has kids knows the difference all too well.
Genesis 1:26 (KJV)
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So, let me ask a question. What part of the earth does man not have dominion over? There is no part of the earth that man does not have dominion over in the beginning or since the Cross and Resurrection. When I say man, I am talking about God’s man, one who is submitted to God above all else. Remember there is no physical manifestation without a spiritual root or cause. The Kingdom of God is within us and is first or primarily spiritual being righteousness, peace, and joy. No spiritual condition remains spiritual alone.
This dominion backed by the power of God is how Jesus brought a great load of fish to Peter, James, and John, brought a fish with tax money to Peter, calmed the storm, and caused a fig tree to die among a myriad of other things in the third dimension. Furthermore, He said, commanded, that we were to do the things He did and more. Getting back to God’s original intent recall that Adam did not have to deal with the curse. Before sin, the earth was truly Heaven upon the earth in every way. Adam and Eve ruled the earth with no one illegally occupying any part of the earth, then came deception, pride, and treason.
The Lord is the maker and owner of the earth and man has been given the earth, placed here, to rule with His delegated authority. God is light and life. Satan is darkness and death. When Adam and Eve sinned, bowed their knee to Satan, darkness and death entered mankind and all the earth. They changed kingdoms, man then needed a Savior, a way back into the Kingdom of God. They exchanged spiritual authority and the Blessing for physical lust.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here with our study of the Kingdom of God tomorrow. The Lord is good, He is not the source of our problems, and He cannot lie! God loves you; we love you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
