A CHANGE OF GODS

Today I will be continuing our new Bible Study series extracted from my book “Awake, Arise, and Triumph – Book II – God’s Road to Redemption”. We will be studying chapter six which is titled “Blood Line – Trail of Blood”. As I noted yesterday, I am hoping to have a digitalized downloadable version of the book available soon (e-book). For those who like to read on their computers or other devices it will be inexpensive access to a rather lengthy book (464 pages). Now, to our study of The Trail of Blood.
When ʾElōhîm (plural name of God) placed the first man (Adam) in the Garden of Eden He had commanded them not to eat or partake of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:16-17) for it would bring death. But Ishshâ(the Woman) entertained Satan in the garden and partook of the tree of good and evil and gave to her husband (Îsh) who was with her, and he partook as well. Notice the woman (Eve – Ishshâ) usurped Adams leadership, headship role in the family. He was not off somewhere unaware of what was going on and failed take his God given place in this situation. He was right there listening and observing and doing absolutely nothing. He was a full partner in this first sin of mankind and in many ways the primary violator.
Genesis 3:6-7 (KJV)
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. [2]
The Law of Sin and Death was violated. Spiritual death entered mankind immediately and natural decay and death entered the creation. Where there was life, abundance, and increase there was now death, lack, and decrease. When man sinned in the garden, he lost his covering, which brings us to what I define in the book as the eighth spiritual law – the spiritual law of blood sacrifice. This spiritual law came into play because the man God loved sinned. God had a plan from before the foundation of this present creation. Particularly notice the “b” portion of the following verse. Our God is so good.
Revelation 13:8 (KJV)
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Man was not made to fail and be destroyed gone forever. Man, you and I are made a little lower than ʾElōhîm, we are sons of God. On that awful day of Sin and Death a temporary covering for man is established immediately, looking forward to a more permanent solution, which is the blood of Jesus. In the beginning, man was clothed in a robe of righteousness with the very Glory of God shinning forth. We see two coverings in Scripture; one is the garment of salvation which is what those who just make it are wearing and then there is the robe of righteousness which is for those in right standing with ʾElōhîm and doing the will of God.
Sin always uncovers. It always opens us up to the curse. Sin will always bring about loss, death, and destruction in our lives especially for the saint. God knows our hearts, the intent of our hearts, how much light (revelation) we are walking in and there can be a space of time for grace and mercy. Obedience to the Word brings abundant life (John 10:10). When Lucifer sinned and became Satan, he lost his covering which was every precious stone. When man sinned, he lost his covering, what identified him as a son of God. The very Glory of God, the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity was everywhere present and manifest as the man moved about his assignments. In spite of this treason, ʾElōhîm in His goodness and mercy had a plan to once again cloth Îsh (the Man), and Ishshâ (the Woman), once again with righteousness.
Genesis 3:21 (KJV)
21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
This means that willing, innocent, unblemished blood was shed for the Man and the Woman; just as the coming Messiah would be willing, innocent, and unblemished. The coming Messiah would shed blood once for all, for all mankind.
TAKE HOME:
- Adam and we are commanded not to mix, partake, of the knowledge of the trees of good and evil. We are to partake only of the tree of good.
- God had a redemptive plan; He always has a plan. Our failures are never His will, but He has a rescue plan.
- Are you clothed in the robe of righteousness?
