Greetings dear saints of God and others and welcome back to this exciting and revelatory study of The Trail of Blood from before the foundation of the world to the Mercy Seat of Heaven. This is teaching number thirty-five on “The Trail of Blood”. The number thirty-five in Scripture is the number of hope. Once we were without hope but now we have hope. Now, let’s get back on the trail. I will be continuing to talk about Jesus the One acceptable (to the Father) sacrifice for sin for all forever.
John 19:30 (KJV)
30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
As the song goes, “I owed a debt I could not pay, and He paid a debt He did not owe”, praise His holy name. Jesus tells us in the book of Revelation, which is a revelation of Him, that He is the first and the last.
Revelation 1:17 (KJV)
17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
First and last what? He was the last blood sacrifice, and He is the firstborn from the spiritually dead. Yes, Jesus died spiritually on the Cross when He was made sin. The Father laid on Him all the sin of mankind. He laid down His spirit life and His physical life and by His innocent Blood and the Words of His mouth took it up again.
Romans 8:29 (KJV)
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Jesus the first born from the spiritual dead is made the Head of the Church. Are you paying attention to the Head of the Church or just doing your own thing? Have you given Him a place of preeminence? He is superior in authority and excellence but in Him we can walk in the same authority and excellence. The Lord is not sloppy.
Colossians 1:18 (KJV)
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
It is important to understand that He, Jesus, was not the firstborn from the physically dead, but from the spiritually dead. Let me make a little distinction here. Many before and after the Cross we raised from the dead only to die again. Jesus was resurrected from the dead with a glorified or immortal body never to die again just as we will have one day soon. We saw Jesus raise people from the dead in His ministry; not to mention many other occurrences including the account in the Old Testament of Elisha’s bones (2 Kings 13:21). The man, Jesus Christ, is the firstborn from the spiritually dead. He is the firstfruit of salvation.
Romans 11:16 (KJV)
16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
Because of Him, we are made holy. We do not become holy, we are holy, praise His name! Just declare that before the throne, I am holy because of the finished work of Jesus my Savior. To be holy means that we are blameless in His sight and set aside for good works in Him. Jesus is the root; we are the branches. What a root, giving life to you and me (John 15:5, Revelations 22:16). The following Scriptures give us the final conclusion: one blood sacrifice, the final blood sacrifice, not a temporary covering, but redemption forever.
Hebrews 10:12 (KJV)
12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
1 Peter 3:18 (AMP)
18 For Christ [the Messiah Himself] died for sins once for all, the Righteous for the unrighteous (the Just for the unjust, the Innocent for the guilty), that He might bring us to God. In His human body He was put to death, but He was made alive in the spirit,
TAKE HOME:
- Jesus the acceptable sacrifice that has brought many sons to glory, to the Father, to the Kingdom of God.
- We are righteous in Him, don’t listen to the devils trash talk.
- Jesus, one sacrifice for sins forever.
Lord willing, I will be bringing fresh revelation from the Throne of God tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
