THE BLOOD OF THE SEED

Today is the fifth installment of our new Bible Study series extracted from my book “Awake, Arise, and Triumph – Book II – God’s Road to Redemption”. We will be studying chapter six which is titled “Blood Line – Trail of Blood”. I am hoping to have a digitalized downloadable version of the book available soon (e-book). For those who like to read on their computers or other devices it will be inexpensive access to a rather lengthy book (464 pages). Now, to our study of the Blood. Without THE BLOOD there is no hope of life, eternal life, life of any kind.
Picking up from yesterday, let’s again turn our attention to when the blood covenant first comes into view. One might think it was Genesis 3:21, when God instructed them concerning animal sacrifice for a temporary covering until the “seed” would come and be the final sacrifice forever for sin. Examine the following verse.
Genesis 1:11 (KJV)
11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. [2]
There must be a Seed come into the earth and be sown; His name is Jesus.
John 12:23-25 (KJV)
23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
Back to Genesis 1:11. This verse is part of what happened on the third day of the renovation and second creative acts. Three is the number of divine perfection. The Law of Seed, Time, and Harvest is a part of God’s perfect plan. Let us continue our discussion of Genesis 1:11 along a different vein. This verse also brings into view not only the spiritual law of seedtime and harvest, but also the spiritual law of the blood covenant. The spiritual law of seedtime and harvest is the fifth spiritual law, and blood covenant is the eighth. The number five is the number of grace, and eight the number of new beginnings. [4] Certainly, God’s economic system (seedtime and harvest) is an act of favor, or a free gift, in our lives that we can exercise for abundance. It is not like a franchise we have to buy. We only have to accept the sacrifice of Jesus and receive the free gift of salvation (restoration of right standing with God); and with it, the blessing comes along side and supernaturally empowers these spiritual laws.
Everyone uses spiritual laws every day of their lives, so it seems we ought to do it with knowledge. For the sinner and unfortunately the saint, many times the negative of these laws are in use. This is the ignorance factor. But when a Christian (saint) uses these laws positively, in accordance with God’s Word, they are supernaturally empowered. The Christian will have far greater returns than the world once these laws are understood and acted upon. We employ them in faith, walking in love, being led of the Holy Spirit. The eighth spiritual law of blood covenant is for everyone, but not everyone will take advantage of it and be saved. This blood covenant brings a new beginning into our lives. The Blood of Jesus to our spirit man is like electricity to a home. Without electrical power, the home is dark, hard to get around in, and hard to live in. With electrical power, light (God is light) floods the place and all is clear.
The outline of Blood Covenant is starting to take shape and The Seed, sinless Seed, with the redemptive Seed withing (His Blood) is poised to redeem mankind. The Blood of “The Seed” would take away the sin of the world (John 1:29). That which would ultimately redeem man back to God was already present in his body. Just as the seed of reproduction was in Adam and Eve’s bodies and through the line of Seth would ultimately result in the Savior, so was the blood that would come with that conception, birth, life, and death. His, Jesus’, death would be of The Sinless Man needing to pay the price for the sin of a sinless man (Adam and Eve). The payment for sin had to be of like kind.
A sinless man took mankind into bondage, and a sinless man had to bring mankind out of bondage. God said (Leviticus 17:11) that the life of the spirit and soul was in the blood, which would produce a message that we call the Gospel message. So, the blood of a sinless man, Jesus, would remit, completely blot out the sin for all who receive Him as Lord. The blood in man was the seed that would bring redemption for all mankind. Until Jesus would come, the blood of animals would serve as a surrogate, giving a temporary covering and taking people on their death to the bosom of Abraham – awaiting the “Seed”. When the “Seed” was sown at Calvary, then that sinless blood took away all sin. The “Seed” brought a harvest – the Church, the body of Christ.
TAKE HOME:
- Jesus, the Second Person of God, as a sinless man was needed and sowed Himself for our redemption, we are His harvest.
- Jesus the Seed sown giving birth to the Church.
- The Blood of Jesus abolished bondage to sin for all who receive Him as Lord.
