AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH
Thursday – February 24, 2022, Adar I – 23
THUS SAITH THE LORD
Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this Bible Study of the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah. Remember, we love you all and there is nothing you can do about it. Before I move forward, please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible to extend the gospel, the Truth beyond our reach alone. The featured picture today is of Donna and me at Maggiano’s Little Italy here in San Antonio a few months ago. God is so, so good dear ones.
Remember we are to pray for those in authority, bless those in authority, and honor them. We are to obey the laws (yes, even mandates) of the land, both those we like and those we do not like. It seems to me there is a confusion in the Church about our obligation and responsibilities concerning those in authority. There seems to be a confusion between the Constitution of the United States and Holy Scripture. Our Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights, and structure of government are wonderful and to be cherished and defended (not in rebellion). However, the Holy Scripture is far above these documents by far and obedience to Scripture including obedience to those in authority far exceeds these governing documents of the United States. Remember, all authority comes from God and rebellion against those in authority is rebellion against God. Second Samuel chapter twenty-four is a lesson for this time and I will write about it in another place. The Lord continues to wait for His people particularly the leaders to come in repentance, contrition. The Church as a whole and the local Church have had and continue to have an opportunity to emerge from nonessential to very essential but that will not happen in the midst of rebellion. Now let’s move our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 10:24-27 (KJV)
24 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.
25 For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction.
26 And the LORD of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and as his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt.
27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
The Lord continues to tell His people, not other people, His people, it is their sin that is bringing a judgment upon them and upon all in the land. It is very sobering to know that our sin many times does not just affect us but sometimes the most cherished one around about us. Think about the judgment that came upon Job for his sin. His children and many of his servants died. He was the richest man in the east, just think of the economic impact that rippled out from him for a season. In our day the wickedness of the Church has brought wicked rulers into office and injustice prevails in the land. Church we must repent, take our place as kings and priests in Christ Jesus and reclaim the seven pillars (gates) of society. 2 Chronicles 7:14 is not written to the heathen but to us, the Church, the body of Christ, those with the all authority to allow and forbid.
Matthew 16:19 (CJB)
19 I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you prohibit on earth will be prohibited in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”
The word ‘in’ can also be translated as ‘by’ and gives us a much quicker understanding and insight. So, if there is oppression in the government who allowed it? We the Church! If you don’t understand that, go back and read the verse again. This has been true from the beginning. It is not ‘they’ but ‘we’. They are not the problem, we are the problem and the solution, through Christ in Christ. So, the Lord through His Prophet, His Prophets still are speaking, is telling His people this sentence is for a season and then I will remove this Assyrian yoke and burden. As we read verse twenty-seven of our text, we can see it was a promise to them and a prophetic Word for us of the coming Messiah and the return of the Anointing into the earth for anyone who would receive Him.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, doubt it not, and speak over yourself and your family in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
