CAST OUT A DEMON FROM A PERSON, A HOUSE, A SITUATION BY SPEAKING TO THE DEMON ONE TIME IN THE NAME OF JESUS

Greetings and welcome to Awake, Arise, and Triumph Ministries. A short while ago we received a prayer request here at the Ministry that involved people practicing the occult, and demons were wreaking havoc in this person’s life. We responded to that prayer request, but I was also quickened to do a brief teaching concerning Christians and demons. This study will by no means be definitive. This study will give a good foundation for ordering our thoughts concerning demons. You will also come away knowing without a doubt that you have total dominance over demons.
We left off yesterday with the Masters command that we do the things He did and even greater things. We looked at it in the context of taking authority over evil spirits, but it applies to all the things we find Jesus doing in the gospels.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Do we believe a word of it? Is it for a special few to do here and there? Jesus asked a very pertinent question during His Ministry. He asked if He would find faith in the earth when He returned.
Luke 18:8 (KJV)
8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
Before bringing this series to an end let’s look at two more Scriptures. First the Apostle Paul casting out a demon.
Acts 16:16-18 (KJV)
16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:
17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.
18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
The Apostle Paul used his (we have the same) power of attorney to use the name of Jesus and spoke to the spirit and it came out. Again, no hollering, no repeating, and no crying out to the Father. Look at what Jesus said immediately before His ascension.
Mark 16:15-20 (KJV)
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
Notice in verse seventeen (the number of victory) we are commanded to cast out devils. If we couldn’t do it this would be an unjust command/law. The early disciples went forth and did all these things for they preached the Word and God confirmed their words (His Words in their mouths).
TAKE HOME:
- To cast out a demon, whether it be a person, a house, a situation, you speak to the demon one time in the name of Jesus, no hollering, no repeating, no crying out to the Father, and walk away, leave the rest to God.
- Remember we have the authority, and God has the power to back up that authority. Remember the words of Jesus. John 14:10 (KJV) Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Put your name in there.
- Let us never forget these words of Jesus. Luke 10:19 (KJV)
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Lord willing, I will start a new study next week. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
